The El Dorado National Forest is known for its alpine and conifer trees. In addition to its heavy foliage granite rock formations are found throughout the region. In turn this makes it a great area for Bigfoot activity such as sightings and other strange finds. We have just arrived at this location and are heading down to the creek below which will take us to our destination.
During the Spring slow moving creeks like Caples move much more rapidly. Right now we are standing on an outcrop that overlooks this creek which is a tributary of Caples Lake. Just as with most creeks in the sierras they drain to or out from smaller lakes such as Lake Margaret a couple miles downstream.

Some people for their birthdays go out for dinner I go out and search for monsters in the woods. As the journey continues on the trail becomes more primitive with logs that cross streams all the way to climbing rocks bigger then houses. This is the birthday gift!
Throughout the hike up to Lake Margaret are many smaller ponds or pools of water like the one you see in this video. Generally fish are not found in these ponds but they are home to frogs and mosquitoes. You can imagine what this place is like just before sun down hopefully I will not be here to find out lucky for us we carry anti bug repellent on all our hikes.

When we investigate the strange we also look for broken trees this one being very green and flexible. Prior to the video I tried to break the trunk and was not successful. So whether it was person or beast this limb was snapped like a twig. It was not broken off completely it was rather left just hanging kind of an oddity nonetheless considering it really was not in the way.
This monstrosity is one large slanted piece of granite. Prior to meeting up with the lake you have to climb this slab and up over the rocks. This may not be the largest granite slab in the sierras but its one of the largest I have seen to date. Their is no trail to the top you just climb and come out into this pristine valley.

These are the pristine waters of Lake Margaret. In actuality since its Spring the lake is a little high thus the entire lake shore is consumed which made it hard for me to search for strange tracks. The lake is much like a bowl with the edges of that bowl surrounded by granite rocks and cliffs.
This is a special video taken on a vista point that I climbed up to which reveals pools of water, Lake Margaret, Canyon, Valleys, Snow-capped peaks and the surrounding area. This is the entire reasoning behind what it is we do at PGS for these picturesque views like this. With vast views like this it is no wonder Bigfoot lives on being number one at Hide n Seek!

The sun is starting to go down so we decided to pack up and head for home. We are following the south side of the lake along various granite rocks when my son starting skipping rocks. In addition other life lurks here such as lake trout and the mosquitoes are starting to come on out. We have a long ways to go as we just finished eating and drinking to fuel our journey back to the truck.
This tree you see was probably clawed by a bear or maybe a deer rubbing its antlers on the bark of the tree. Nonetheless it just shows that life in these parts are abundant even if you do not see it while hiking. Deep in the forest where many have carved their names into the trees we also added ours perhaps to live on even after death through mother natures bounty.

This is the second body of water we found while hiking around the Lake Margaret area. As you can see their is no shortage of water let alone wildlife. One can imagine Bigfoot squatting down taking a sip of water here hence why it is so important to always look for tracks no matter how thick the foliage is or how many mosquitoes their are at sunset.
As I was nearing my approach to the end of my hike I looked a bit off of the path to the right where I found what appears to be an impression of some kind perhaps a large hand print in the decomposed granite. It could almost be remnants of a footprint hence the toe like impressions. Even though its not the best impression it is proof that something with digits had formed the impression. Notice to the left the bark missing off the trees this could have been created by tree banging something Sasquatch will do to communicate often stripping a tree of the bark using a large rock.
