Jobs Peak
Expedition 2
June 30 - July 1st 2012

I wanted to get a taste of traversing this mountains trails at night and I have to say it was a great investigation. At night however its harder to uncover tracks therefore what you look for is movement and eyes in the woods since Bigfoot is a nocturnal creature. Tammy and I just got done doing some fishing then we went straight from the lake to going hiking the adventure just is endless in this region.

Little did I know I would spend about 7 hours hiking in the night hence my nickname AngelOfThyNight because very few people enjoy the whole night hike thing. I do because I love the stars and the mystery of it all.

The hike into the woods would not be easy you have to understand that its a transition from high desert into alpine forest thus it starts of with sage brush and allot of sand. Hiking through sand is a real pain in the ass its hard on the ankles and feet.

In order to even make it to the woods its a good mile in so our adventure hadn't really started yet even. All the stars were out nearly a full moon it was a warm night and so the elements of finding something strange were there. Hell not even an ounce of wind transpired so it was good hiking.

When I crossed the tree line something ran I cant say what it was but it sounded bipedal I never felt so watched before. I brought this time a spotlight shined it never seen a thing yet it sounded right on top of me and Tammy was much further back.

We would do an extensive hike overlooking the Carson Valley at night. So many homes lit up all the small towns lit up man it doesn't get any better then this. We would hike up to the Jobs Peak Ranch trailhead for a couple miles. The trail would go up and down eventually to these rock formations the size of houses. Speaking of houses their were many large homes just a couple hundred feet below us. I bet these people have stories to tell having Bigfoot in their backyards hell they might not even know it.

We would break on the Lonesome trail overlooking the town below have a midnight drink and snacks. Our investigation would be far from over as I had plants to take two more trails one being the Luther Creek Spur the other being the Interpretive loop which goes on about the history to the region.

Believe it or not Jobs peak is a historical site at one time their was a massive saw mill on the creek and even a homestead. The homestead site is not visible today but their is a plaque and the saw mill site is not around but their is one remaining wood remnant along the spur that I did find. Not only that but at one time a shootout occurred here someone was killed as surrounding Jobs peak a small community has always existed dating back tot he 1800's so not only do you have the native American all the way to early pioneer history but you also have the whole aspect of a vast wilderness surrounding you.

Tammy and I would do a night investigation of the Washoe Cemetery it was quiet back here but I wanted to show her and also take some EVP. I was also testing out my new camera since the old one was damaged up In Yosemite so the cemetery would be a good way to do this. Not far from the cemetery Tammy heard what sounded like a woman it was a bit odd. I cannot say what it is that I heard it may have been a ghost considering that their is no human life in these woods at night. Although their is a public parking area with a trailhead at night people stay clear of the Jobs Peak woods as their are some pretty big mountain lions found here.

Traversing the spur trail was interesting we could hear the rushing water of Luther creek and at times I would cut through the little animal paths and heavy brush just to look for evidence along the creek. The creek is not like your average creek it flows very fast and flows through the trees its odd. You could have trees growing right in the middle of it and its hard to get back here.

Eventually we found a path with a bench over near the old saw mill site so we took a second break I smoked a cigar another tradition of mine. If your going to hike a cigar, toke and beer are all great celebrations. I had hoped to hear something strange but the creek is rather loud back here and their are rapids.

Tammy and I would finish the interpretive loop by retracing our steps so far the hike was peaceful not to say nothing was out there because at night these creatures have an advantage unless you carry a thermal gun. I took photos of all the plaques on the loop and then did some tree banging. Tree banging is a technique we use to lure Bigfoot in sometimes it works if they are close by.

Sadly I climbed up a hill to a tree and on my way down walking some pine needles made me slip. My ankle popped and everything that was healed up was resprained in a matter of a second. I rolled down the hill multiple times and was in so much pain all I could do is just grin and bare it. I told Tammy regardless we would finish what we started so again I walked over to a tree had her run the cam while I tree banged.

As we worked our way down the upper loop I did two bigfoot calls sitting down all my gear. All of sudden something walked toward us. In a scurry I grabbed my spotlight hoping to catch a glimpse of the beast that is making the tracks at Jobs peak and face to face was a deer. Which proves to me not only is their plenty of food to sustain such a creature but also a constant fresh water source as well.

By the time we reached the truck the sun was almost up their was that same truck parked near ours there when we returned. This time a guy gets out begging for a cigarette Tammy smokes I told the guy no though as I didn't want him getting near us. The guy then says to me are you sure you do not have one so then I knew something was up so I grabbed my gun and said to him again NO.

I know that the guy was bad news period I could hear it in his voice and when your out at night in seclusion you have to be careful. Every year thousands of couples, adults and kids turn up missing. If not missing jacked, robbed and even assaulted. I would not give him any excuse to come near us he tried though and I pushed back.

When the sunrise came up I drove away from the mountain took some scenic shots of Jobs peak then we went for breakfast. Jack in the box was not open so we had to settle for McDonalds I guess after all night of hiking that it tasted pretty damn good lol. We would then make the preparations to complete a third journey nearly only a week later where we would take things up a notch.

A kids shirt has been tied to a trailhead post a little bit alarming but that is my opinion. Not everything we come across is paranormal sometimes we come across clothing or even someones prescriptions glasses. Although it does not mean someone is missing we have to always remain vigilante in the locations we investigate. As human life as much as animal life is very important to our organization just as respecting every location we visit. We did do some Bigfoot calls had a deer walk up to us kind of odd but the oddest find was a man hanging at the trailhead entrance who has been living in his truck everytime I have hiked in this region. Again we must always remain vigilante with our work!


My injury I sustained on Jobs peak steep slopes allot of bruising around my ankle area. I ended up snapping my ankle to its side and rolling down a hill. Took this photo just a few hours later after my arrival home. No pain no game!

Earlier I was tree banging when I took a bad fall rolling down a hill. I stood up again to finish the job as Tammy filmed me. We were hoping for results however the results we got later after this video was a deer coming up to us. This video is more of a how to for amateur Bigfoot Hunters looking to communicate with these creatures by a method we use called tree banging. Sometimes it works sometimes it does not depending on the situation.
