This long dirt road takes you up into a desolate canyon where Star City resides within the Humboldt. In this clip I am taking the truck up into Star Canyon. As you can see the mountains are covered in snow and the further I traverse the rougher the road becomes.. Eventually you end up driving along a steep ravine which follows the creek all the way to the town site.	Unfortunately our trip was cut short when we experienced a terrible flat which became stuck in the snow. After digging out the truck and pushing the shovel was left behind. That is where this clip comes in as I am walking back to the truck where Tammy found a section of road where no snow was visible. Shortly after taking the road out of the canyon something attacked our truck. After trying to get out of here we felt hopeless we were not even sure we would make it. To be continued...........

Coming back to Star City would be an new journey all together. You have to understand the first time I visited the canyon and roamed the mountains you see in this video I suffered two flats and something big attacked my SUV. What would await me on my return trip to the Humboldt Mountains?	This is the long road on in that you take to get up into Star Canyon. Along the way you will see lush open areas of high desert and you might even spot some free roaming cattle. Watch how I round up the cattle in this video and pay close attention as they are looking at me from the passenger window pretty funny stuff!

Not much remains of Star City but you can tell this was a miners cabin made out of native stone on a hill which has some pretty scenic views which have not changed for over a 100 years. This cabin had a small fireplace because the winters here were very cold and harsh. But what your seeing here is one of the last miner cabins to attest the elements of time.	This area of the canyon is actually where most of Star City was located. Today everything is in ruins all you can see is piles of rock where the walls of these large buildings once stood. There were two hotels, three general stores, a Wells-Fargo office, a church and more than a dozen saloons. All of it as you can see in total ruins!

This is the Sheba Mine its rather extensive sorry its so dark my team kind of stayed far back so I had very little light to work with. Entering the mines is like entering a dark abyss many tunnels that lead to nowhere while others lead to places that you could end up being stuck at. This mine made over 5 million in Silver it also is haunted by a couple ghostly miners.	You can see that the mine cart tracks actually dead end at a back entrance of the Sheba Mine which we discovered just exploring. It was good to be back in the light since we spent plenty of time inside the Sheba getting wet, cob webbed and climbing through small tunnels.

Sorry the quality is poor did not know my cam was out of focus but anyhow this is the road less traveled. Their is no way to get a vehicle back here you have to take it on foot which gives off great views of the forest, creek, Star and Thunder Peaks which are snow capped in the Spring.	This is actually not part of the town its a makeshift shed built out of wood and alluminum probably by the hermit who lived here in the 1970s. You can seen cans of beans, Crisco bottles of urine and even some old bed springs. But the real dark truth to the story is the hermit that lived here attacked people and one day the police came up to his den to confront him where a shootout took place. That hermit died from gunfire so its a bit of a morbid spot this is where this man took his last breaths and lived.

When I was hiking deep in Star Canyon we found these two cave that were pyramid shaped. They sit up on the steep side of the mountain so they could be used by cougars maybe black bear that roam the mountain range. They also might be mining claims one must wonder. I call them wildman's dens because their are twin dens and something in 2013 did attack my vehicle something that may have lived at one time in these very caves you see.	Who says mother nature does not have a sense of humor? I have to say that if I climbed this rock id be embarrassed to even mention it. No less the rock formations along the ridge overshadow the canyon we are hiking in below. Since I am close to the creek the foliage here is extremely thick where anything could be hiding.

This is an 18 minute video of pure terror as I carefully take the Xterra all the way down devils ladder ledge after ledge. Their are parts of the road that are washed out one wrong move and the whole vehicle could roll over the side into the creek below. As you can see its so narrow the branches are scraping both sides of the vehicle and at the end the camera shuts off on its own as Sue is screaming because we nearly rolled it or should I say we were only on two wheels but this is the true nature of being an explorer to push your limits and we did we succeeded on one of the toughest wagon roads in central Nevada.

After 18 minutes of descended down the old Star Canyon wagon trail I quickly get out and run to the area where the road is washed out just to show my viewers how close we were to actually ending up in the creek. I needed a breather the tension was so tight that Sue did not speak to me for nearly 5 minutes till we made light of this in the next video.

This was our final video of Star Canyon as you can see I am still offroading but were on much better terrain as the road meanders out of the canyon. To be honest with you we have allot to be thankful for I mean when you can laugh death in the face and come out of a place with some really good paranormal evidence there are no regrets. At the end of the clip I get out to visit these pink flower bushes only to see massive cocoons filled with catterpillars getting ready to transform into butterflies which fill the canyon in the later Spring.
