Mens Open Basketball Tournament February 19th - April 24th 2019

A short clip my son filmed of a practice game we did on March 9th. I was already playing for four hours so I was exhausted but a couple of the guys showed from our team so we joined a group of other guys and won a couple games. Then again not sure we lost any games that day. We generally practice during our season on weekends its a blast my son filmed a short clip for me.

We went up against Koncept for our first time in this clip. It was a tight game at the very end but we just ran out of time. My son filmed a short clip just showing some of the gameplay during that tourney. We play them one more time this season however we play the top team many more times still trying to figure out that one since Koncept and us are in last place right now so we should be playing one another more often lol.

Our first time facing off against the Alphalancers the first half was really close and you get to see my three pointer at the half time buzzard which was a really nice shot. When I focus I can make 3 pointers all day but as you can see so much is going on the refs make a ton of calls and I just think we got away from our game a little here. Not only that but I was fouled out the second half no less this is a decent team and we play them a few more times coming up. Forgive my teenage sons poor commentary but it is the best I got perhaps ill replace his voice instead with some music in the future lol. I was sluggish out there I was so sick when I played this game but I still covered my man and slowed down his momentum I just wish I could have had more energy to move around more.
This was one of our better games my son put together a few clips while he was watching sorry for his annoying commentary Ugh teenagers. We almost won this last night they beat us by five points. I do think if we would have made a couple more shots count like foul shots, put in a couple rebounds and maybe passed to the outside for a couple threes we could have beat this team. This team is one of the more talented teams in our league and we stood up to them very well going Lebron James on their asses lol. But wow what an improvement in comparison to the first time we played them so we are definitely improving and looking much more organized on the court considering this is our first season together playing all together. This was a very very aggressive game pushing, collisions, falls, someone got hit in the nose, another in the face etc I love it! It was a very intense game and that is how we need to play all the time to show the other team were not going to let them walk into our zone and score. But this was our 8th game of the season and I am proud of how far the team has come but it also is about the halfway point through the season. We put up a fairly good amount of buckets and we really are building something special setting the tone for future seasons. I am proud of my guys they are working so hard and improve every single game great job everyone!
 

A short clip of our game against Ruthless a 2nd place team. Were still trying to figure out how to stop them defensively we wont play them till next year again. No less our effort near the end of the game did produce some results but if we had that chemistry early on perhaps the landscape of the game would have changed a little.
 

I wish my son filmed more of this game since it was so far our best game but we came out against this time with a zone defense held them back and turned the rebounds into points off the 3's Koncept missed so it worked very well. It was our first win of the season final score 67 to 57 so this game will ALWAYS be special to our team because we worked hard to get to this point! We may have to verse them in the final consolation game we do not know yet depends on how many wins we produce the rest of the season. Here is a couple short clips from the 1st and 2nd period!

The Feisty Goat are currently a number one seed they have plenty of talent and shooters who can make it happen. Considering we only had six of our teammates we played a great game against them. Would I have loved to win the number 1 seed? You bet! But no loss is for nothing we are learning how to play against them defensively and offensively and they did have to work for this win a little more then previous games. At one point in the second period we started coming back on them and they were scoreless for awhile which led to them taking a time out. I really think we played well and matched up against them better. We will see them next year now that our season is coming to an end and I feel honored to play such an aggressive team like this. If we may have made more of our baskets, foul shots and gotten a few more rebounds its possible we could have won this game so more work just needs to be done! But no less I respect my opponent we lost sure but no less it was a good game considering they been playing for years together and our team weeks.

We were nearly facing a forfeit as we only had three players while the Thunder had ten to eleven players which is a full line of subs meaning fresh legs. Thanks to an employee at the MAC Mike we were able to play but shorthanded which is every coaches nightmare because defensively there will always be one opponent on the court who is open for the shot. This was a GREAT game close to the very end and I commend my players for not giving up because we had to play the entire time with no rest covering the entire zone which does take some level of stamina and talent. Sadly some of our players had to work, were sick and two simply quit a week ago leaving us to try to win as well as fend off the Thunder to keep our playoff hopes alive short half a team. Sadly their were some mistakes made by the scorekeepers for example we made a three pointer and they gave the points to the wrong team between that missing a few foul shots would have changed the entire landscape of the game perhaps even the outcome I truly believe that so if I could go back in time along with some of our players we would love to have made a couple more shots to claim victory last night. Every time we play the Thunder the games are exciting and always close back n forth its my favorite team in the league to play against so much FUN. My son managed to nearly record almost the entire game for our viewers and this is a good one some 4 on 5 lots of steals, blocks and talented play. I believe if we had the rest of our team show up to play we could have won this game and we would have had fresh legs needed but we did the best with what we had and no less it was a heated competitive game so what more could I ask for? A little four on five close to the end? We have heart and this will set the tone for next years season because if we can almost defeat this team with four guys imagine what we can do with a full team next year? Skies the limit and were in it to win it as long as we use this experience to learn from were going to be a top contender in future upcoming seasons! We will play the Thunder next year and hopefully will come out winning them next time! We have two games left in the season against the Alphalancers then our consolation game so technically three state tuned!
