Kongsberg and Centerville Flats

Kongsberg sounds like something named after King Kong himself accept that in my story there are no skyscrapers or apes beating the shit out of there chest.  Tammy and I had a very interesting journey as you see we ventured into a place called the Ice Berg Wilderness. For those of you that are not aware I am surrounding by 5 national forest and within those areas many various wildernesses. My point I am trying to make is that its very easy to be driving down a dirt road then all of sudden hit snow up here in July.

This vast wilderness is full of high cliffs, rock formations and mountains. Many of the peaks reach 10,000 ft and honestly Yosemite wasn't very far away if I really wanted to go up there lol. But I told Tammy in a joking manner that driving around this part of the mountains had a very Yosemite feeling. The scenery was gorgeous here

Kongsberg and Centerville Flats were both mining towns and today honestly nothing remains. I almost am shocked by this fact but I did find a cemetery, foundation of an old jail and a mining site. I also passed by an old ranch and a very eerie abandoned house. I never knew about any of these areas I just decided to drive around and see where we could explore for Bigfoot tracks.

On my way to these ghost town sites I must had passed 7 different creeks/rivers and many of them go for miles through vast forest. The forest we been working in is the El Dorado National Forest and Toiyabe National Forest in California. Over the years I have learned that you cannot be lured in by beauty alone. Sometimes the most beautiful places hold deep dark secrets. For example a week prior to this trip I found this perfectly square cave entrance high up on a cliff. Just as while hiking along the river out near Kongsberg I found a similar cave that is only reachable with climbing gear.

I did find three sets of tracks up here all had toe impressions and the prints were fairly wide. I did take a photo of the track using my hand as a comparison its pretty genuine I think our viewers are going to understand the hard work involved with what it is we do here. You may spend all day hiking to find just one track but I was lucky to have found a couple. My theory was that the prints were from a young adolescent and adult female Sasquatch. More then likely the adult bigfoot might be taking its young to the river for a drink. Right now allot of the rivers are still raging but they are abundant with trout and the water is so abundant that life thrives here.

I did do some filming up here I actually have some nice footage of a cliff cave I found, bigfoot track and a Western Tanager. BTW the Western Tanager is an exotic looking bird and they are often seen in the Sierra Nevada's. Since my move to the area I have seen some of the prettiest birds in my life. This is why I love living here and conducting my work. I get to work allot with mother nature and be able to take my time seeking out evidence that the paranormal is all around us.

I also came to this region for another reason I am searching for some historic mines but despite all my driving around I did not find them. I did however find a couple gated roads something maybe later we can look on into. I also an old mine entrance that was collapsed, giant smoke stack and old wood historic home. I believe that the house served as some headquarters for the mine/mill that once were on this property. I found the old wood tailings but you could tell the mine was blasted shut. Many bricks were scattered on the hill side and the smoke stack/chimney was still in tact. I actually climbed into the giant chimney and looked over 50 feet up at the sky lol.

At Centerville Flats nothing remains really I mean granted there are sites outside these towns that you can say were a part of them but when it comes to the town site itself there are no saloons, banks, hotels, general stores, barns, houses etc All that remains of both towns are trees and scenic territory. It is hard to believe that each town had almost 3000 residents and yet not one thing remains but a few sites out in the woods. We did find an old corral at the flats that is probably all that is left of Centerville. Back in the day the automobile did not exist but these towns thrived in the 1860's and life was like little house on the prairie.

I had a kick ass time here hiking and exploring. I didn't just visit one area but many areas and that is how I found those tracks just by being persistent if they are from a Bigfoot. We can only speculate until this creature is either identified or we can get unreasonable evidence to prove its existence. I know that if Bigfoot is sighted near Markleeville then he surely is sighted just miles south of it in this region which is surrounded by high cliffs, unknown caves and a woods so vast that you could get lost in it faster then you can find where your going.

We have our work cut out for our team this is an ongoing case and will bring you guys coverage in the future. I spent the remainder of my tour in this area photographing a butterfly and climbing onto some rocks and standing in the middle of the river. I tried to envision myself being Sasqatch...what would I do where would I go and then it dawned on me as the wheels turned within my head. I have a pretty good idea where to look next the only issue with that is some of the places I want to explore are very difficult places to reach. Some so difficult that you would have to be a gorilla to get to them haha.

The one thing that hits me as strange maybe its not but there are certain areas we have been hiking at that still have snow up there in June and July. For example I took a ride out to Blue Lake the road was closed due to snow in JULY lol. I was literally driving in 6 inches of snow down some of the roads in the area. So my thought it that allot of areas are secluded no humans are around for miles but the real question remaining may pertain to pondering if Sasquatch roams this area.

As we left the area we decided to tour a few lakes and for fishing in the future. I like to fish and I love to eat it to so sometimes when we investigate we also do a little fishing in between. I think its important to be a well rounded paranormal investigator. Just being there putting yourself out there will increase your chances of seeing something strange. I think bigfoot fishes to just like bear in these parts lol.

Tammy and I tried taking this road that follows a place called Wolf Creek. I actually found an abandoned weigh station back here and an abandoned dirt road. I am guessing that their was a mine back here and then the ore was weighed prior to the trucks leaving the area. I know its the law that the trucks cannot carry more weight then what is allowed based on safety standards. The Wolf Creek area is an interesting location lots of strange rock formations that protrude from the hillsides and mountains.

Our last area of the night would take place up in an area called Leviathan Peak. The Leviathan area I have passed but never took the treacherous road on in however this time around we found a back road into this secluded area just outside of Lake Heenan. I visited this lake to see what the fishing report is only to find out that fishing is off limits here almost all year long so instead I decided to give our viewers instead an adventure in the Leviathan Peak area which from what I hear is a strange area surrounded by a series of various landmarks found in this region.

This impression was found along Silver Creek! Can we say its Bigfoot? Possibly but again their is no reassurance. I found a set of tracks that appeared to be following the creek they were barefoot. The toes are very far apart and much larger then an average human. This was a much better impression so I photographed it. My theory is that whatever it is follows the creek then lumbers back up to Silver Mountain which is such a harsh terrain that even hikers have difficulty with the area.  This is not the type of area you want to walk around barefoot in.
