The best way to traverse into the wild west is to take similar tours that the early natives or emigrants took which is through the high desert into the west which leads up into the higher sierras the further you venture into this hidden gem.	The sole purpose of this video is to raise public awareness that the condition of the cemetery is in peril shape. Their is desecration and vandalism cause by locals who come here to drink, litter and shot at the graves. A native told me about this cemetery no I will not give its location away we just wanted to include it as a historical project to fit in with the surrounding area. If you pay mind their is always someone in the brush carrying a gun I believe we stopped them from entering the cemetery and causing harm to it so we completed two great deeds protecting this burial ground and sharing its condition to hopefully stop others from harming it in the future.

From afar you can see the Sierra Nevada's in this case these mountains are called the Carson Range. The pass that cuts into the mountains is the Carson Pass thus the hills you see are the foothills which you enter prior to entering into this range. Due to drought their is very little snow on the mountains so this is a rarity. If you pay close mind to this video their are a few peaks I scan past that we have stood on top of so it is very amazing to be thousands of feet belong them.	This is a harsh wilderness with signs of life and death. Life being the various tracks we found as well as animal droppings and death being the many bones we came across. Generally many rabbits, deer and even coyotes are abundant here. While for some wildlife they are doomed as soon as the enter these vast lands.

The back country of the foothills is primarily high desert covered with sage brush and some natural monolithic stones which stand upright on the hillsides at times. Right now were just trying to traverse the big open valleys we have no set path I guess that is the meaning of being a true explorer. By us taking the back country were able to discover some of the stranger things which might be missed by others who stay on the dirt paths here.	This is a very relevant video because it shows that this ancient land home to the natives for thousands of years now is no more then a mere dumping ground for the locals. I consider these hills a very beautiful wilderness its a bit mysterious to some however they do not appreciate its value as we do therefore they mistreat the land. It does need to stop thus watch the video and understand why I called this a very sad site that we stumbled upon one of many believe me when I say this!!!!

We found this very heavy strange bone in the middle of the thick foliage just laying on the ground. I guess you can say its a bonafied find literally! I did document the find just in case it turns out that its a human bone for the local police. It is possible it came off a deer or maybe a coyote dug it up from the local cemetery but still its important to mark the finds with footage. I am sorry about the audio screwing up for some reason if the camera gets jostled its audio capabilities overlap and fail.	The sun is setting and were riding off enjoying the pretty purples and pink bands found in the skies. The sunsets here are timeless it is one of the worthwhile things to experience back in the hills. I am sorry the camera goes out of focus and in addition the sound fades out very low. I believe that jolting the camera while riding my mountain bike on the bumpy roads cause another malfunction. We put our gear, bikes and cameras through a beating but its expected this terrain is very rugged did you expect any less?

The road less traveled follows ancient paths that the local natives took in the warmer months. Their goal was to climb over the mountains you see to the west to get to the season creeks and some of the higher lakes. They would collect roots, fish, gather berries and hunt in the sierras. While in the cooler months they would take the road less traveled through these foothills hunting jackrabbits and of course the winters within these hills were less harsh then up in the Carson Range to the west in this video as we bike into the wilderness.	Rock canyon is more like a ravine filled with a shallow creek, thistle brush, foliage and most of all massive rocks. Some of the crevices are deep so we had to take it slow and climb Volkswagen sized boulders to get through it. Our GPS took us the wrong way to the lake actually one of the harder areas to traverse. We were lucky to make it through rock canyon although its some amazing scenery that probably hardly ever sees human activity it was quite challenging residing at over 5k!

This truly is amazing site mainly forgotten it actually served as a means to provide fish to the natives and home to many ranches which once served as homes for some of the natives prior to Dresslerville becoming a colony. I did make a mistake though you cannot fish here I had a friend who told me he did but it turns out its now a private lake. The dam and reservoir serves the colony a few miles away. I guess you can say the lake is sort of an oasis especially for the cattle that graze here and in the past it was used to irrigate the crops grown here. This was a beautiful site to come across while taking a stroll down this very secluded road. The only ones who actually get to see the lake are those who work up at the mines its kind of sad that it gets overlooked.	These are closeups of the native American dam and the reservoir. A road divides the lake and this smaller body of water. If you pay close attention you will see that many sand bars and peninsulas remain exposed. This is because the drought that was effecting California is also effecting this lake so the water levels are very low no less the lake is still very deep. In this video you can also see the volcanic spires of the high sierras covered in snow and even the pine nut mountain range. The natives would go up into the pine nut mountains to gather seeds and the of course the pine nuts to be stored away as a food source.

We would stop to have lunch on the lake in the distance we could the high sierras and even a few ducks just enjoying their daily stroll on the lake itself. It is a very tranquil and calm lake volcanic rock was used on the west side of the lake which seems to separate it from the reservoir nearby. I cannot disclose where the lake is but not many people know about this place that is what makes it such a gem and a great place just to take in the same beauty the natives seen for hundreds of years. Of course we cannot fish in it so again I take that back but if the lake did exist hundreds of years ago then I am sure the natives would have utilized it to fish. If not one thing is certain the river nearby has been flowing for thousands of years and it always is teaming with trout which would have been a subsistence for the local tribe that traversed these hills.	I think the best memories that are formed are the ones spent journeying down that lonely road into the vastness of the wilderness. I am very happy that I could just spend time with my sons it teaches them to show respect for places like this that are tucked away and pretty much forgotten. We enjoy just walking the road because we can study rock formations, bones, tracks etc what more could a bunch of boys ask for right?

We had stashed our bikes away because the GPS told us the lake was above us up the hill then it turned out it was not so by the time we arrived back it was apparent that someone also on a bike followed our tracks because we came back to a fourth set of tread marks. Following my cycling footage which I know is a bit shaky sorry we made a grim discovery of a skull however the rest of the skeletal remains was missing. The audio starts to mess up near the end sorry again the camera took a beating on the bike nothing I can do about it. It is possible that this mammal may have fell victim to some sort of alien abduction/mutilation!	This is more of a fun video as I try to film a good half mile of us mountain biking. At one point we go down hill and you can see I am flying. Later on I slow down and I carefully take my time to film the ride more slowly at a lower elevation to give our viewers a look at the country side that graces the this vast area that is surrounded by the Sierras and the Pine Nut Mountains. If you also notice we are purposely hitting bumps and making sounds because it causes you to vibrate intensely. We had to be very careful at least I did while filming because at higher speeds hitting a rock could cause a mountain biking accident which could lead to injury still a mile or two from home. This is what it truly means to be an explorer it is one adventure that will last us a lifetime!
