Tonopah Nevada
Expedition 2

I loved this semi ghost town so much I had to return again and twice in one month is a treat actually twice in on week. Yeah I could go anywhere but the history that surrounds this region is amazing. Tonopah is a city full of relics of the past especially of Nevada's silver mining history. My kids probably do not get it like I do but this town is really one giant treasure and its full of ghost stories of the west.

Arriving in Tonopah was a good feeling but I was a bit worried the snow as intense visibility was poor. There is a barn out on this dirt road I wanted to check out but to truck it through the storm really was not on my list as it is the moment I arrived in town I had gotten out parked then explored these three structures.

Two of the buildings are made of stone one is made out of bricks. One of them appears to be made out of native stone the other these giant stones possibly granite. The brick building kind of sits between adjacent to the granite building while the native stone one resides behind both of them. One of the buildings has a pentagram carved into the stone above the main door. I still cannot understand why this is not something you see out west.

I have no idea what the buildings were perhaps some fraternal group had meetings here. There is what appears to be a barn off in the distance perhaps a mill. It was snowing so hard I could barely see it this time around and I lost feeling in my hands because I left the gloves back in the jeep while exploring I was so excited that I forgot to take care of me lol.  Visibility was very poor and here I was in the middle of a storm exploring these buildings it was almost a whiteout. The boys were chilling they did not want to go they had enough of the winter weather when we were exploring Coaldale Junction. I was ready to see more sites snow or no snow I did not care it was adventure. It felt good to actually get out hike around rather then hide in my vehicle and hope for nature to favor us. Coaldale Junction was just warming me up I was ready to take on Tonopah besides everything out west looks prettier covered in snow even an old timer locally told me that one a few weeks ago when he was giving me some intel on the town itself.

There is a road it is labeled no trespassing from behind these buildings. I could have gone around it on foot but in the storm I could barely even see it. A cop had someone pulled over or was therefore I was not going to take the road out to the barn even if visibility was poor. The cops in Tonopah are very edgy allot like its residents. More or less people act paranoid like your going to rob them or your up to no good seriously! All day long downtown people passing through are getting speeding tickets imagine one for just walking down a dirt road would cost me sheesh. Therefore I just figured I would find a way to offroad to it because behind these buildings are miles of four wheeling roads once part of one of the towns mining districts in its heyday. It does not matter where you go in this town their are signs of mining everywhere even in peoples backyards.

The brick structure had a restroom and the front was just a gutted very small room. While the big granite stone structure with the pentagram had no windows most of it was boarded up all around except for one or two windows. I looked inside it had the old light fixtures and narrow wood boards which were found throughout the ceiling and walls. The floors were original made of large thick wooden boards while their was a sign that Arcia U.S. its very strange. Peering through the window you could see one or two rooms towards the back while the main floor was pretty open perhaps this was some place where some fraternal group had met. The other stone structure in the back contained a big empty room with a giant door laying on its side and an older ceramic sink in the back with some exposed pipes. Maybe one building was a school the other a kitchen while the other may have been used for administration at least that is what I gathered something ill have to look more into.

I am not sure I seen everything on site but behind these structures are mountains I could not see it was getting bad. Its pretty strange to be out in a storm like this wind blowing, flakes coming down and all you see beyond the wood fence behind these buildings is a wall of white. We were in for a treat sometimes investigating during storms can be a wickedly awesome adventure. You hear all the time about ghosts being seen during storms where someone picks up a ghostly traveler along a stormy road. Behind these stone buildings are miles of roads and you can see in the distance dump piles as the land was torn up from the heavy silver mining in the area. Its very foreboding some mines go deep down in the earth where men have lost their lives! In the storm nobody can see you nor hear you scream!

After I had gotten back in the jeep I decided to do some offroading yeah it was snowing but it seemed to be steady and stabilized. Therefore I took this dirt road deciding that what we would do since we could not check into the hotel room was explore see what kind of sites I did not see during my first expedition around the town. You see Tonopah sits in this small bowl like valley therefore historic sites, mines, mills and homes are all built into the hillsides. So each street you take you began to ascend over downtown its pretty nice but there are many gems hidden down its streets you have to really spend time looking for them.

. I also found while driving down a snowy road the new cemetery but strangely the newer cemetery looks older then the older one. Does that make sense I mean the newer one had quite a few gravestones, statues and enclosures. While the old cemetery is just a series of crosses and perhaps a few stones but not many. No less it appeared that the newer cemetery was kept up more yet the older cemetery is a bit in peril. I only took one photo of the new cemetery please by all means in the future compare both cemeteries you tell me its fairly obvious even in the snow.

After driving around the cemetery in the middle of a snow storm the flakes slowed down but they were the size of quarters on and off. I am use to this type of snow when I lived in WNY this is all we would deal with going to work every day but with a jeep that has four wheel quad drive it is made to get me through some of the harshest terrain if necessary. I took the boys behind these stone buildings as a matter in fact you can drive behind the new cemetery its pretty cool but the dirt roads pass all sorts of mines. I took the boys up and down hills, through piles of old rusty mining equipment covered in snow and past many various mines. I almost had gotten stuck a few times the roads are overgrown with brush as the roads were torn up with gashes and grooves. The land is really rugged but its a four wheeling paradise and there is allot to explore here as you drive past various mining claims. So if you have a good vehicle you can enjoy these roads behind the new cemetery its allot of fun if your into four wheeling.

I mean not sure how many of you are into four wheeling but I could do it anytime of the week snow or shine it gets addicting. These roads were fun some were so steep down other ones intersected with other dirt roads. Some of them went over hills and we traversed them for a mile or two. I was looking for mill sites back here seen a few foundations including this two story concrete building that was fenced off and I could not find a way to. Its a maze of roads and you can see off in the distance the building with the pentagram on it. But the debris field is very large piles of rusty bean cans from mines, piles of wood with nails through it etc so I had to be careful I did not need a flat tire. I could not even turn around in some areas and the snow had us sliding all over the place. Its not easy to turn around on a road covered in snow and that is barely wide enough to drive down so a few times I had to just drive across the desert riding over brush.

When I pulled out onto the highway a cop sped up behind me turned on his lights and sirens. However he did not pull me over he pulled a pickup truck ahead of me however he ran me off the road so again these cops are not as friendly as where I currently live and he could have went around me he did not have to do that on purpose to the boys and I. I mean you could tell he did this to me on purpose and when he did I almost went off the road very unprofessional of the officer. I understand people in Tonopah get bored and cops figure because they have a badge its okay to take advantage of others I get it I do! This is why I did not go explore the barn or some of the abandoned houses I do not want to deal with being bullied by the local po po! lol enough said!

Tonopah also use to be a military town you had the airbase near by and other military operations in the area. Therefore when I drove around the streets I found the old stone power company and a bunch of fenced off boarded military barracks, I forgot to photograph the barracks but I did video record them as I drove by. I had no idea they had something like this up on the hill in Tonopah then again I also found a stone home that looked like a small castle with a dome on top. I drove everywhere around Tonopah found a bunch of abandoned miner cabins below the mines down some of the less driven streets and stopped by the old courthouse.

I also found this big abandoned mansion yes it was boarded up and yes two other poverty stricken homes were near it. I did not go into the home I wanted to but when you get locals who do nothing but stare out there windows at you constantly it gets a little uncomfortable. I mean don't people have lives its the middle of a snowstorm for crying out loud! But imagine a Victorian home with an upper balcony and lower enclosed porch and a creep attic with giant windows that have no boards on them. The house was very creepy and yeah I snatched a photo of it for the website. Its one of the creepiest structures in Tonopah it sits on a hill and in a storm like this it just gives dismal a new meaning.

After my journey around town I finished off photographing more miner cabins. I did not even think about attending the local museum as I would have loved to go but when you explore you get side tracked. I mean museums are great for history but if you want to find ghost the real meat of things is up on that hill where that big old creepy mansion is or those miner cabins that sit below the very mines these men perished in. I found quite a few old one bedroom wooden miner shacks next to residential homes and some were on private property. I am sure some of those abandoned cabins have some ghostly activity then again id be more scared of some of the folks who just stop and watched you as you drive by pretty strange!

It was snowing the entire time but at times it would lighten up at this point in the game when you drive around Tonopah you do not feel like its the desert. It feels like your in some mountainous woodsy town as snow collects on the trees. All the old ore carts and relics of the past are snow covered. You cant see the mountains everything is just foggy and white out. At times it lightened up enough to see some of the sites I missed photographing off in the distance. I do think that the storm will really add some pizzazz to our website when Tonopah gets added. According to locals snow in these parts is very rare compared to the days of old.

After our fun offroading and exploring the oldest areas of Tonopah we decided it was time for lunch so after not finding a parking spot I parallel parked it downtown.. We went to Hometown Pizza its honestly one of the best pies in Nevada. I still think its a bit costly we ordered two mediums for 36 dollars. My son and his friend had a bbq chicken pizza while Jarrod and I had the Philly Cheese Steak Pizza which had hardly any meat on it. Their was however allot of other toppings on it and that is the one thing I like about this place is they load on the cheese and toppings. Minus the fact mine lacked steak the pizza was pretty good and the kids had a big smile on their faces. I took Tammy and Jarrod here my first trip in Tonopah in the evening we had the Tonopah Combo yum! Its about as close as you can get to homemade pizza so I like it and we needed that so bad lol.

After we ate I had to head on over to the Clown Motel there was a sign up that said be back at 2pm nobody is in the office. Well it had gotten past that we tried looking in the windows of course many clown props and dolls were staring right back at us. I took the boys up to the general store and gas station finally was able to get through. An older man answered very nice guy told me he was at a funeral and closed up the office. We then went down there to check in the guy must had seen us covered in snow and he hustled to get us our room downstairs telling me to get the heat going. The rooms are large but they remind me of something out of a 1970's flick and our room had this creepy clown painting. Hell even the TVs are tubes but its all good I have no complaints it was clean and they helped us get our WIFI going.

All of us took a nap for a couple hours I was kind of paranoid I opened up the curtains to keep an eye out on clowns seriously! I ended up dozing off and I am sure a few clowns were watching us sleep. I heard some very strange noises in the room next door. As a matter in fact when I had gotten up I walked out my front hotel door and heard this sinister laugh next door. I do not think anyone was staying next door but that room was full of life. I have heard stories similar to this so I am not the only one believe me. It was a quiet night lets face it with the storm their were very few travelers on the road. I told the boys we could go out for Chinese food but after reading some reviews I kind of was grossed out. I wanted bar food and we all decided to have it delivered.

Are room was really getting hot so I opened the door Tonopah has a stray animal issue therefore three cats tried to enter our room. Three cats later would tear apart the garbage in a bin outside my room too. I also seen two dogs wandering some road in the storm. Its very terrible to see all the strays how can people just leave there pets in the middle of nowhere only to be hit or scrounging for food I just do not get. I seen the same cats my first trip wandering Tonopah they are still without a home. To think I have four kittens and one adult cat who get love, warmth, food as well as a cozy place to sleep then to see these cats running in the snow is sad.

We ordered from Cisco's Restaurant just a couple blocks away. I was a bit disappointed they billed me almost a dollar or two extra on each meal we ordered. The proportions were very small and they gave us no plastic forks to eat with. Devin had ketchup packets my sons however had gotten none to go on their fries. I ordered a Philly it was good so was the macaroni salad but for 50 dollars I kind of felt like we could have went to a nice restaurant like the Mizpah instead seriously! At least I would have gotten beer from the brewery and larger proportions. But we were really tired it was a long day of exploring and driving.

Hell my heat nor my blower works right now in the jeep so the windows fog up I have to wipe them with a towel constantly or we just have to dress warm. I had blankets and allot of extra clothes in the jeep including firewood just in case on this trip.If you spend the day in the cold you burn twice the protein so yeah we needed a good hot meal and I expected a bit more. I guess when you order from any America restaurant you expect them to pile on the food so I wont be ordering again. I am not sure why I was charged all these extra cost but when a piece of cheese cost you a dollar when the burger should already have it or a philly cost you extra even though the menu says its two dollars less I am thinking they thought I was some fool or tourist staying at the clown motel. Definitely not a tourist Nevada is now my home I love this state and I represent this region with respect.

By the time we finished on eating we had gathered up the gear and changed. We were getting ready to take a night trip up to some old miner cabins below where Jim Butler made his first Silver Claim. The cabins are a short walk to the Burrow Mine which is a 500' shaft and trust me after a 100' down you cannot see the bottom its a site to see. The kids made fun of me because it was so cold at night there breath turned into ice inside the jeep windows. In a matter of a few seconds when I was driving I could not see out I ended up trying to go up the road to pull in a parking lot when I was traveling up the wrong side of the road and of course a local was all honking like crazy. But I could not see I was driving blind and all I was trying to do was get over into a parking lot. When I scraped the inside of my window bam ice peeled off and coated all the glass. It took awhile to get it cleaned off so I could see then we made our way behind the Mizpah.

Behind the Mizpah is the mining district its where the town begin so the mills, mines and miner cabins are all original. They are the oldest parts of the town and on a hill was three cabins. I told the boys were going to go ghosthunting I was not kidding about that. Last night I was up here prior to this I did not get to investigate them at night and this is because I totally missed them. Its so dark in Tonopah at night its easy to miss certain locations. Tonopah has one of the darkest skies in the country believe me. It was a cold night but the storm had passed therefore all the stars in the sky were visible what an awesome site to see. I told the boys this is good news maybe in the morning will be able to hit Silver Dyke boy I spoke to soon.

I did visit these cabins during the day yes I have day footage and photograph of them. This time around I video recorded them at night and blasted them with photos. I did multiple EVP sessions and took EMF gauss readings. I was not bullshitting about investigating this site and well while my younger son was helping me with the investigation. My older son and his friend were on their cell phones or playing games. Oh that is right he was putting messages on my wall like I am a goose. Its sad that kids these days have no clue to what urban exploration or paranormal investigating is about. Back in my day this is what we did we went into abandoned buildings. Its normal for kids to want to do this but to me it seems abnormal to see these kids on their phones or on facebook in the middle of the night behind some abandoned miners cabin. I thought at night the cabins were very exciting a bit creepy as each one has a couple small rooms inside.

Behind the third cabin its rather strange a party place perhaps I asked for a sign anything at this point. When behind the cabin coming from a mine dump pile we heard this knocking sound. I have no explanation for it other then to speculate this was caused by something ghostly. It was just this knocking noise like a piece of wood or maybe tin roofing was being banged on just a few feet from the cabin. My son was a bit creeped out by it the older boys told me they heard it too. They were not paying attention but when they heard that noise they were with the program then lol. Other then that I heard an owl then later pigeons making the usual sounds they make when they are sleeping surrounding the mines behind these cabins. Their are mills, mines, beams and areas where creatures like owls can perch on here. But what I heard the knocking noise defies explanation and it all took place because I made the decision to investigate these cabins. One of the cabins felt off very much felt like we were not alone I believe I seen something in the doorway of the first one briefly. I also heard mumbling I do believe these sites are haunted by the miners who lived a matter of feet away from the Silver Top Mine.

When we left the cabins there was this woman who had her bedroom light on pulled up her shade and was just staring at us. I mean seriously Tonopah is a living ghost town its obvious people who are taking photos are there to either ghostbust or they just want to take photos of some of the relics around town. You get all sorts of folks who come up here and with Tonopah being on television a few times its now a focal point for paranormal investigations. So its not uncommon to see folks checking out the old cemetery or sharing ghost stories. The town is full of all sorts of haunted places and if they are not haunted they are historical. I prefer offbeat places but some of these living ghost towns have people who are just waiting to cause some sort of drama. I told the kids not to look just keep walking because honestly you can walk around the cabins they have trails in town but people are still going to stare.

We arrived back at the hotel in one piece I dropped the boys off in the room made sure they were chilling then I set off on foot into the night. Some folks might say I am relentless in my work and they are right. I will give it my all I am not lazy nor will I sit around eat all day. People assume because I smoke medical marijuana that I am supposed to be some lazy stoner and that is not the case. In the past few years I have climbed, hiked and literally journeyed thousands of miles trust me. I toked a bowl then I set off to the cemetery. The Old Tonopah Cemetery and the Old Masonic Cemetery are next door to the Clown Motel. You actually walk across the parking lot and down some steps right into the graveyard.

I have heard some horror stories about this place not just about the ghosts and strange shit that goes on here. But I also read about people looking out there motel window and seeing a clown grinning at them or waving then disappearing. I have no idea if this is true when I was walking around the motel and in the graveyard I did not see a soul. Well I seen someone working the front desk and one of the women who works there was visiting the office. But not a single vehicle or person was out I had the entire motel and graveyard to me and me alone.

I spent almost two hours roaming both of the graveyards taking long distance night photography to photography some of the more interesting gravesites within. I found an area where some of the miners from the Great Belmont Fire were buried. These men were over a thousand feet down when a fire broke out. At least 17 did not make it due to smoke inhalation or burns. I did not find all the graves but I did find in the dark at least four to five next to one another near the main entrance. I spent allot of time trying to focus on taking apparition photos and EVP here. This cemetery is my third visit in a couple weeks at night however the dogs in the neighborhood heard me and were going nuts barking. So it was hard to really focus on my work wish people controlled their pets more my dogs do not bark like that at night when they go outside.

I did not have a set plan in the cemetery other then to conduct my research. I found some graves I did  not find last time. I bounced around allot went from the Masonic portion to the older cemetery. The two border eachother so you can walk between the two quite easily. I heard some strange whistling in the cemetery it sounded like a man. I can tell you right now I was NOT alone in this graveyard. Keep in mind I was alone I do allot of investigating alone. I am very fearless in my work therefore things do not get to me as they would others. But ill tell you what I never stopped looking over my shoulder with all the creepy clown stories about the hotel I kept expecting to see Pennywise or something waving at me in the graveyard or from the hotels parking lot. At night the motel is so quiet its eerie with all the clowns on the doors on the rooms to its dim lights. In the front of the hotel office and the parking lot both have giant bright lights with clowns on them. You cant miss this motel if you come through town! I had to stay here just to say I survived it lol.

When I came back to my room the boys were asleep they were beat. I had to stay up pack the packs, charge the batteries, prep for the next day and organize. Allot of work goes into what I do I do not get much rest on any trip which sucks because being as sick as I am I need it yet I skip taking care of me to make sure our team is ready to go. Once again I heard creepy noises at the motel more then once believe me and these banging noises in the room next door. I heard them when I stepped outside it was very strange. Nobody was staying here the room was dark yet I heard coughing, sneezing, hacking and sinister laughing. Who knows but I smoked a cigar and some bud while watching for a couple hours out my window. My son wakes up he says dad what took you so long in the cemetery well honestly I had gotten very involved in my research. I work very efficient and alone you might be surprised at what hidden truth ill find alone but I still wish I had a team. I am tired of not being able to find hardworking, loyal and dedicated investigators. Everyone watches TV therefore they think this is TV and its not. Yes you get cold, wet, dirty and hungry on top of it you will feel like a ton of bricks hit you after you go out exploring with me. Trust me when I say this I am a no BS type of guy!

I slept okay but something strange happened to me at night. I plugged in my phone set the alarm to wake up for 6 am. Well when I woke up my phone was completely dead I believe it was also unplugged. My son put some ear buds down woke up they were torn to shreds. Its as if someone came into our room while we slept and messed with shit. I am not sure I have any other answer just that it was creepy and weird at the same time. I am not sure if some rooms are more haunted then others it would appear that prior to this being a hotel it may have been apartments but not sure. Other rooms differ I seen pictures ours though had an old dingy feeling to it. I did not feel anything in our room but to wake up and see our things messed with was a bit strange. That is just as bad as before we left to those miner cabins the night before I gave my son the room key to get something from the jeep. Well he could not find it and it appeared back in my coat pocket. It would appear whatever is going on here likes to play pranks similar to what clowns might do at a circus or a fair perhaps.

I also woke up in horror we were facing a second snow storm and this one was bad. I looked out the motel window and everything was draped in fresh snow. The flakes were coming down faster we loaded up the jeep in the storm. Imagine I have no heat in my jeep because these dumb asses online frauded me for the wrong part so I had to live with it. But it sucked because I could not defrost the windows or try to get some heat going as we begin our northern trip across the Nevadan frontier. Lucky for me I dress very warm with layers therefore I could hike from morning to night in the snow I wont freeze nor will I die trust me from hypothermia. But my older son is almost 18 and so he feels by wearing less clothing he will rebel against me instead of just wearing warmer clothes. So he was shivering for most of the trip and its a hard lesson to learn but no matter how often we go through it each year its the same song just another tune.

The lady working at the motel offered me some coffee there was no creamer. I was alone in the office with a shit load of clowns looking at me including some evil life sized Ronald McDonald prop lol. Another clown was sitting in the chair and they had some newspaper article about Tonopah's most finest ghost hunter. When I put this location on our site with ghost photos, EVP's, video, history etc etc I may or may not be the top ghost hunter but my members as well as fans are in for an amazing treat on our site. I think with what I have to share which is NOT dust particles but perhaps real ghost photos and voices of the dead should make a mark in Tonopah's haunted history. I been doing this type of work for years you can learn if you can be on our team trust me. I can turn people into legends in this field if you are willing to join me in a quest of truth.

You have to learn before you can teach that is the truth and I been through allot in my years of doing this. I have seen aliens, UFOs, demons, ghosts, monsters, bigfoot and been through allot of storms during expeditions. My plan was to leave Tonopah and at least try to get to the ghost town of Columbus which is about 60 miles westward from here. Believe me when I turned on the weather channel that morning they showed a massive storm coming through the region. They showed this purple band as wide as the sierras where the snow would be strongest all within a couple hours away from where we were heading. I was in a race against time but I also knew we were already in it. We would have to drive through the snow to get home and we would have to drive through it to Columbus. We would stop get hot drinks before hitting the road and all I can say is that the visibility was so poor I could only see a hundred feet in front of me. There was just a big wall of white 360 degrees and we were the only vehicle making tracks on a highway covered in snow so thick that you could not even seen the lines. We were heading to the ghost town of Columbus it was a very quiet eerie ride we knew that we were about to do battle with mother nature itself!

This is a very amazing photo captured not far from where the miners died in the Belmont Tonopah Mining Fire Tragedy. Itr a massive face I do not even really need to post the enhancements you can see the face staring at me directly in the middle of the picture. I tend to do allot of talking to entities when I work with them therefore at times they have been known to be photogenic for me. This picture really is something special and just proves that the cemetery may be one of the most haunted locations in Tonoaph Nevada.

This mass of ectoplasm around me may not look like much but enlarged and studied I was able to pull three seperate entities within it. This is an abandoned miners cabin its very old and original probably haunted to because the people that lived in such cabins were miners who some ended up dying in the Belmont Tonopah Mine Fire which killed many men who are not buried at the cemetery just up the road.

Same miners cabin different entity one can see the mouth,  chiseled chin and the most obvious a set of eyes looking right at me. The entire reason I came back to Tonoaph twice in the same week is to do some paranormal research at these old wood cabins. I never realized they would be so haunted till we visited them our third time only to capture images such as these.

A couple really amazing faces showing themselves above a wrought iron enclosure the first one you can clearly see its a man he has a much broader but flatter nose and larger lips. My guess would be Native American maybe Black I cannot say for sure. Below it appears to be a second face maybe a Native woman but I cannot say for sure. Tonopah had many different cultures that worked the mines especially the Natives who came here to find work.

Another entity I captured in the old cemetery this one appears to be that of a man looking down at me sort of at an angle. The prevelant features are the eyes, nose and mouth he probably also had curly hair.

A gorgeous entity shot of what appears to be a man might even be something humanoid or cat like since it does look more like a lion facially wise. It is an entity hard to say if its human though we know so very little about how the 4th and 5th dimension works. Somewhere in between spirits lurk and were sometimes able to capture them on camera.

A very large mass of energy but all I could really find was this face which has eyes of coal or as soulless as coal as some would say. But you can kind of make out the mouth as well perhaps even lips quite phenomenal really.

Same cabin more entities this one appears to maybe be a short haired woman maybe a little girl that is the second entity further below. The top entity hard to tell but if you study it further you can see there are two faces side by side almost like a woman and her young child. My guess would be is were dealing with child entities based on who came to show up for this beautiful portrait.

A very strange looking entity the face is kind of obscured by ectoplasm covering some of it up. If you really study the enhancements you can see two faces a smaller one and a larger one assuming that again were dealing with maybe a mother and her child. Allot of kids died in Tonopah by the mysterious plague it was sad and I believe those children still haunt these burial grounds today.
While Tonopah may be one of the most haunted towns in Nevada it is also one of the strangest. These photos were taken at the Clown Motel which show Ronald McDonald looking at me through the window and many cats gathering outside my room. The Clown Motel resides next to the old Tonopah Cemetery and during our stay at the motel we heard these giant laughs coming from the room next door despite nobody was staying there. The cats are probably left behind from other guest who dump them off here but no less to open the door and find three of them staring at me in the eyes caught me off guard. The Clown Motel is not only haunted but folks have been chased by clowns especially some who have entered the cemetery. I have heard some of the rooms also have strange ghostly activity. While my experienced were minimal the cats, strange clown laughs and ghosts we encountered at the cemetery next to the motel were all very real!

When we arrived in Tonopah later in the morning we drove through white out conditions for a few hours it was intense and dangerous not a vehicle on the road but a few large tractor trailers. We were all hungry, cold, tired because we just had gotten done exploring the outskirts of Tonopah in deep snow and another location prior to it known as Coaldale Junction an abandoned hotel and restaurant. It was still snowing out and we decided to have lunch at Hometown Pizza before we would check on in to the Clown Motel. This was a boys trip for sure I brought my son Jarrod who was in Tonopah with me a week prior along with my older son Richard and his friend Devin. This was a fun trip but the real investigation would start up later at night once the sun had fallen we would be ready to take on the cemetery and many abandoned miner cabins. The pizzas were awesome one had onions, peppers and mushrooms the other chicken smothered in cheese. Like I said the best pizza in 100 miles and only pizza probably lol. I ate Hometown Pizza twice in one week if that says anything!

Also please be advised although a little off topic there is a rest stop north of Tonopah Nevada its very remote but if you happen to stop there to use the restroom or even to lay down your head please use caution. For those who are not aware of this rest stop it is located on US - 95 Rte. 6 West 13.5 miles north of Tonopah Nevada also referred to as the Click Here: Map Of Millers Rest Stop. Millers at one time was a small milling camp that processed the Silver Ore in Tonopahs early mining days before stamp mills were built there. I believe there is a serial killer on the loose who may be responsible for the many disappearance in the region and Nye County the past few years. More or less those passing through who might be alone on the road traveling should be vigilante. The area is very remote at night its so dark at the rest stop that you can barely see your hand in front of your face. Over the past few years quite a few people have vanished without a trace around rest stops in rural Nevada.

As a paranormal investigator I could say its aliens which would be naive of me but the truth is that back in 2016 I was on the road from Vegas to Carson City late at night when a truck carrying an empty car dolly slowly pulled into the rest stop behind a woman sleeping in her vehicle. Her vehicle at the time was the only one parked at the rest stop it was dark. I believe the individual was getting ready to commit a crime it was late past midnight and when I pulled up I had gotten out immediately standing there staring at the individual in the truck. The pickup truck peeled off really fast then drove out in the middle of the desert behind the rest rooms and was watching me from the darkness they did not get out but instead waited for me to leave at that time I did not as I was concerned. That is when I pulled out my 40 caliber Smith & Wesson pistol and the individual sped off at a great speed in the parking lot behind us out of anger. I would have picked up my cam and filmed the incident but at the time I was worried about my girlfriend who was in the vehicle scared and felt that instead I might need to call the law or possibly stop someone thus I waited to film the vehicle and plate after the individual put some distance between us.

I had waited a few minutes to let the truck get ahead of us on the road however strangely ten minutes later I caught up to the vehicle and it begin to play cat and mouse with me. As I tried to pull ahead the vehicle would not let us pass then it slowed down driving half way in the shoulder of the road trying to get me to go around it in a no passing zone with tractor trailers coming towards us in the opposite direction. The strange thing about those that vanished in Nevada is often there vehicle is found at another location or sometimes the person and the vehicle simply vanishes. How is this done? The culprits often use car dolly's that way no prints are every left behind and the law cannot monitor rest stops because they can pinpoint crime at a location a persons vehicle is not at. I have posted a video which can be found by Clicking Here: Lord Rick Follows Suspicious Vehicle Near Tonopah Rest stop.

I believe this individual was in the process of committing a crime possibly getting ready to tow this woman's car from the rest stop using the empty car dolly. One must understand that more then often if your going to drive across Nevada with a car Dolly with a California license plate your going to be towing a vehicle behind it; especially if you are traveling in the middle of nowhere you have no purpose for an empty dolly. Not to say that the individual was not going to go buy a car somewhere else in Nevada but it still was very suspicious and we as Nevadans must look out for one another. To many people and there vehicles are often found missing or displaced. How this is done? More then likely not little green men from Mars beaming cars up to their flying saucers but instead psychos who might prey or take advantage of those who are on the road in a part of Nevada that lacks law enforcement, witnesses or even necessary help at a rest stop that is remote such as the one north of Tonopah.

Some of you may wonder why at the end of this wonderful article I have decided to include this information? Well as a paranormal investigator I go out all hours of the night I see allot of things over the years. I do not just see UFOs or Ghosts but I have seen people doing who use nightfall as a way to commit not so righteous deeds. Therefore, I have a moral obligation to say something since our site has millions of viewers. I know that our Tonopah addition will draw in hundreds of enthusiast who might take an interest in urban exploring or doing some paranormal research in Tonopah therefore we do want to warn those who might get on the road to travel up here to make sure A. They are not on the road let alone this rest stop at night alone B. Carry some form of protection such as a stun gun, firearm or even a durable pocket knife and C. Good cell phone service in case you do get a signal.

Tonopah is a popular place for those coming up from Vegas or down from Reno to explore the massive wood hangars at the Air Base or some just simply want to tour the Old Tonopah Cemetery behind the Clown Motel. Regardless if you decide to follow in my footsteps visiting some of these great sites in Tonopah heed my warning I have spent a long time on the road visiting remote ghost towns and other locations the individual that was casing this rest stop was up to no good. Therefore, that could have been me, you, a mother, grandfather, your son or daughter at that rest stop. If I did not intervene what would have happened to the individual sleeping in there vehicle? If you see a white pick up truck possibly silver in color with extended cab it has the license plate 6YSR967 near Tonopah or any rural rest stops throughout Nevada or California acting suspiciously please call local law enforcement or possibly the FBI immediately! Lets help keep Nevada safe for our adventurers and those enjoying the silver state!
