Blue Lakes resides around the Mokelumne Wilderness surrounded by heavy snow almost yearly. Blue Creek connects the lakes which in this video we take you for a brief hike along the creek which flows very steadily. The lakes give off a sapphire impression surrounded by meadows of wild flowers. There is no place like this place in the world between the seclusion nestled all within Alpine County. Generally most of the year Blue Lakes remains closed due to heavy snow fall so when the gates open it is a must see.
You can physically walk across this dam to gain beach excess to upper Blue Lake which is known for better trout fishing then even lower Blue Lake. This area is surrounded by snow capped peaks almost all year around and it is one of the more secluded lakes in the Sierra. We nearly walked around more then half of upper Blue Lake to absorb the beauty that surrounds this hidden world.

These signs are found surrounding the Blue Lakes area with that in mind it sure does not make you feel at ease to know that some of the cute fuzzy forested animals may carry this. Nonetheless in this clip we take you along a snowy road where the creek runs through to the other end of upper Blue Lake.
This may or may not be the same road that leads you into a ghost town that once graced the Blue Lakes area. However one can tell upon careful examination that this indeed is an old mining road that goes up into access elevations of 9000'. The road is very rocky at some points its very steep. More then likely it was used by ox wagons and miners.

These overlooks give some of the best scenic views of the upper Blue Lakes area. Above me I discover various picturesque colored rocks which later turn out to be volcanic rock the first of its kind I have ever seen. This type of rock is found throughout the sierras particularly on its peaks as at one time volcanoes erupted regularly in this mountain range. Today they are dormant and non active.
This is when our exploration became more adventurous notice the trees they almost grow sideways. It was a bitch to climb but I decided to make my way up to one of the surrounding peaks around Blue Lakes not only to get a better view but to examine what I thought may have been a cave. We love caves some of them however reside hidden in the mountains and the only way to get to them is to climb sometimes even on all fours.

Many of the canyons and washes throughout the sierras are snow filled this is due to the fact that not as much sunlight ever reaches them. Underneath the snow water flows thus it drains into creeks and lakes such as Blue Lakes below this summit.
Notice what happens at 2:26 of this video! If the snow was a little less thawed I may have been going ass sledding nonetheless this video shows the type of obstacles we come across while on cryptozoological explorations. Also you get some nice close ups of the volcanic rock, scenery and a clip of a strange track found up here.

The sad part of the whole entire exploration is leaving behind views such as these. This hillside has wild flowers and great views nearly almost 360 degrees around me of snow capped peaks at the end of July of 2011. Going down would be difficult as the loose rock make it very easy to slide and slip. As you know falling on it could make things worse especially if I were to gain momentum. What a great view of the area from up here.
It is now evening up at Blue Lakes time for heading home as the hike back would take us all the way past upper blue lake and through the forest. You almost hate leaving something like these behind especially as much as I enjoyed this location and now we can preserve it through our videos.

Notice the seasonal creek is trickling down the road as we make our way back down to the shores of upper Blue Lake. There is also a massive tree stump and other pretty forested scenery. There is nothing better then being in seclusion and exploring it all.
I found this pile of stool on an old road that follows upper Blue Lake. It contains allot of hair in it meaning something in the area is a carnivore and eats other animals. It could be a mountain lion or perhaps it is from Sasquatch himself. I found a larger pile of stool then this a few hundred feet from where I shot the first stool video which tells me that the same predator probably made them.

These shores provide water and food for all the local animals that thrive in the area include possibly Bigfoot since sightings in this region have continued for many years. Across the lake are snow covered mountains and we were at the midpoint of summer hiking here.
This pile of stool is even more massive then the last one we video logged. Only this time when I was examining it I heard a very odd sound from the forest. Its to bad the cameras did not record it but it only picks up sound at close range. My guess would be its the same predator as you can see within the stool there is a nut....allot of hair so I believe that this is an omnivorous creature that resides in this area.

Within the Blue Lakes region many of the dumpsters are tilted on their sides. This may be to keep bears and other animals out. Perhaps it was the animals that pushed them over to begin with. This isn't a very exciting video but it does show you all the tracks which means the area is abundant with wildlife whether that is Bigfoot or just a few smaller animals the area is alive. Moments before shooting this a deer ran out in front of us.
