The Stark Plantation is a mystery in itself and we spent perhaps a whole week looking for this place and months talking about it. Lee our investigators father once went back in the woods over 20 years ago and their it sat abandoned in the middle of the woods a paranormal hidden jewel. He told Lee about it and then we spent much time discussing on searching for this place deciding where we could start.

I tried to do some research but came up with nothing I am sure over time we will get more bits and pieces. But our first investigation we spent hours hiking in the woods in an area which was considered part of the Stark Tract which had an article how the fence was damaged in a storm. We realized that one part of the woods went on for miles.

Eventually during a daytime trip I found a dirt road which went into an area with many trails in the woods. Later that night we turned it into a full out investigation hiking down the trails, chopping brush, and searching the area that Lee's father told him about. We still failed to come up with much but by our third investigation I did a daytime investigation with my son.

We hiked beyond the woods and found a couple large farming communities with Pasteur's. On one side was a old colonial wood house which seemed to be occupied and further off on what looked like an old bandwagon trail we came out near a falling apart water tower, barn and shack. I believe that perhaps this was at one time the Stark plantation.

The fact remains is what do you do when a part of history is missing? You go out their an adventure and that is what we did. So when you browse these investigations and this page keep in mind alot of heart and soul went into this investigation. My first trip I got cup up beyond belief, our second one we were rained on for 5 hours soaked and wet and our third trip I was just exhausted.

However our trip was not all a loss I mean we found an old wooden door they only made in the 1800s, china in the woods, tin cups, a stone foundation, a metal gate and much more. The area today is used by 4wheelers as their are alot of woods. Some trails have barbed wire on them to keep them out but we have searched for miles around the area and basically never did find this abandoned mansion. So we have to think that either it was destroyed when the city put in their power lines or that perhaps that old mansion I seen far off near a field was actually the plantation itself. It fits the 1800s old wood look so that is probably it and of course their is a photo below of the house.

The area is very strange My son made contact with a little boy who seemed to tell him that the plantation is very deep in the woods and we can easily get lost. The little boy also guided us around and I let James and the spirit do their thing. They took us to an area which where their was this broken gate and was impassable. I came around on one of the trails and we found a trail which was blocked by tons of giant trees. But if I were to calculate a straight run on that trail it would lead to that Pasteur and house we seen way off in the distance. How I found the house was I took a hilly field surround by woods on both sides. It was a good half of mile hike an area nobody really goes and it came out beyond the woods to the farm house. So perhaps the ghostly boy afterall was telling the truth.

But the area has also had many train deaths since train tracks but through the area. You do not see the trains till they are right up on you since the track has many bends in it. But I am also sure over the years bodies have been found back here I mean on our adventures we have found shoes, clothing, kids toys, fire pits, beer bottles, garbage, a jeep, building made of stones, and many other things. So their is a real eerie feeling back in here.

Their are many other strange things like strange noises in the woods, large tracks which I believe are Bigfoot Prints, cold spots, feelings of being watched and equipment not working right. So perhaps we have a mix of ghost and bigfoot in this general area. Since the area borders the tip of Ocala National Forest anything can hide back within the Stark Tract.

Some will call us a success to this investigation because of how accomplishments and some will say we are a failure but what I came to realize is that many unheard of plantations once existed in central Florida. Many of them had servants, grew citrus, used the St. Johns to ship goods and many of them all failed. The ones that often failed were forgotten and destroyed. So perhaps this is the case but if any members have any information about this place such as a ghost story, more accurate locations, history etc please email us so we can conduct another adventure to this mystery plantation.

Unlike other investigations this was like a real Indiana Jones type of adventure. Their was logs over ponds we had to cross, hills to climb, muddy paths, hard rain pouring down, trees blocking the way, hands and knees crawling. This perhaps was one of the most enduring investigations since we have been based in Florida.

Aaron's grandmother said she visited the Stark Plantation once so we know it probably was built in the 1800s and probably sold fruit going into the 1900s as the plantation was passed down generation to generation. Then perhaps the family perished or abandoned it and maybe today based on the house we found it could have been restored and would serve more as a cattle or horse ranch. Some of the old barns we found in the area were nothing merely but piles of old rotted wood off in the distance perhaps part of the plantation at one time. So investigations of the Stark Plantation  in many forms were a success but still always some mystery will remain..
