Stark Plantation Investigation 2

Well here we are back a second day in search of the elusive Stark Plantation.  This time we were a couple miles away from Friday's first investigation. It actually is the right area we were in because today I did some further research and analyzations. But I had visited the site earlier during the day and my son told me he felt watched out there.

Anyhow we parked near some train tracks and hiked up a long dirt road in the woods. We were unable to drive since the sand was to deep. We seen a sneaker in the middle of the dirt road which was not there just a few hours before I visited to scope the area out so in my opinion that kind of struck me odd.

We kept walking and came out along a railroad bed and to the left was the first hiking trail I showed the team. This trail is full of weird feelings but not good ones in my opinion. It almost feels like maybe at one time a murder took place in this area or something bad occurred. We did hike up it to a fire pit and a downed tree. I felt that the trail went further and then Lee took out his blade chopping through brush and sure enough the trail continued on.

As we kept walking through the narrow overgrown trail it seemed many trees blocked our path. It was hard because we had to get on our hands and knees crawling through bushes, pine trees, and tunnels of bark. We eventually came out to a more cleaner trail where less trees were down.

The trail was not to bad except that we heard some strange beastly noises not to far away in the woods. It sounded like grunting but something very big. I am not sure but to me its possible it was a bigfoot. I know that these woods a few miles away will lead you into skunk ape territory so its not impossible that something was here with us.

We hiked for quite a ways and it took awhile this was a very slow moving type of trail and as we got farther away I no longer heard any strange noises. Eventually the trail took us to a giant open field there was some sort of relief and then we started to journey across the giant grassy field.

We came across another trail which had many no trespassing signs and barbed wire across it to keep others out. On a psychic level I felt we were real close to this mansion in the woods.  Someone went through alot of trouble to not only keep people out but to make it clear that they were protecting something back here.

We took the trail it was fairly straight and cleaned up so no problems walking throughout it till we came up to a larger open area. The open area had three trails the left, right and of course the middle trail which was extremely overgrown.

I went off on my own to the right where there was some barbed wire and felt an entity coming down the trail. I felt it was a younger ghostly lady trying to tell me something. I could sense it getting colder and colder. From the photos it appears to be a lady and you can see her energy approaching me in the few photos taken.

So we decided to take the trail where there was alot of ghostly energy on. That trail we did take and it led us to the railroad bed just further down from where we parked. The guys took a break and I took some more photos. It seemed we were followed the whole way.

We then backtracked down the trail and took the middle path. The path was very overgrown and only wide enough for us to walk in single file. This path was very unfriendly and I did not feel anything ghostly or beastly here.

But we took this trail for over an hour and half probably climbing on the ground, twisting and turning, climbing over trees down. At this point our lights were all dimming and the area was so over grown I could barely even see the sky.

We were so deep in the woods there was no signs anybody had been back here for years. There was no litter, no quad tracks, no human tracks either. At times down the path we would see a few smaller more narrow paths where they led I do not know.

The night was becoming very tiresome lets put it this way we had been hiking for three hours and that whole time rain had been coming down steadily. So at this point all of us were very muddy and dripping wet. This adventure we were on was more then an investigation but it was a quest. It was more about pride and strength pushing on to find this hidden mansion in the woods. Each step we took was a step closer to perhaps finding a paranormal jewel.

Eventually the trail ended at this wall of brush that was twelve feet high. Even studying Ariel maps from a couple thousand feet up this wall is very visible for some reason. The land sunk down and Lee felt it was swamp land. By this time we had entered our third eco system from scrub, pinewoods to swampy grounds.

We turned back and took another trail one that was very bandwagon like with higher dirt walls.  At this point that trail dead ended us too so we took another route off the trail.

That trail was quite rough lots of twist and turns. Even going back for us would have been a couple hour trip so we took this new way hoping it would take us to an area which would give us some relief. Eventually we came out by the railroad bed as I climbed out of some bushes.

We were really out in the middle of nowhere there was no houses just train tracks, giant sand walls, and woods.  We had a choice which was walk down the rail bed which would lead us to a state park or back to the car. After getting our bearing we made our way back down the rail bed. At this time at least a few freight trains had passed throughout the night. Its amazing how you do not see or hear them till they are right up on you.

We then came across an area near the woods with kids toys and other items. It looked like someone was living here as there were many soda cans and garbage.  Then I heard something loud in the woods do not know what it was but there was movement. I felt watched once again.

Eventually we came to a trail I made a mistake thought it was a trail we took earlier which was fine because even though it was not we were able to at least investigate a different part of the woods. That trail had some much litter and garbage you could tell others go back here to party.

Eventually we made it back to the barbed wire area and I wanted to retrace our steps because we still had one more trail in this section of woods to take. It was not to much longer till the sun came up so we were pushing to find the abandoned mansion. I heard a howling sounded like maybe a coyote in the distance.

We took the trail and I took a photo on the trail seen a giant face coming at me then all of sudden my camera broke down. The zoom lens would not close, it lost all power, and my camera was petrified like stone. I tried even brand new batteries and nothing. The energy here grew into incredible strength there was an advanced entity surrounding us I could feel it blanketing me. The guys could feel its strength and coldness as well.

The adventure was not over yet we took this road to the left and it led us to a jeep in the woods kind of odd but it was old and beat up. We searched around and eventually found one of its seats not to far away.

That trail was quite hilly and we had two fallen trees we had to get past but they were not to hard to climb around. We heard a real strange bird in the area and Lee was on alert as well.

Eventually we reached a dead end at a giant stone wall and someone's backyard. We reached civilization for a change it was nice. Then seconds later my camera turned on and was working. It really made me wonder if we had some electromagnetic interference beforehand since even my flashlight was failing at times. I had to bang it just to get it to work.

We eventually came back out and started our long hike back to the car. At this point we probably hiked miles in the rain by the time we almost reached the car. Lee and I heard a bang in the woods it sounded like a door slamming but it was only a hundred feet off in the woods.

We did get back to the car safely but it was apparent that there was a mix of activity here perhaps ghostly, Cryptid, and even unexplainable activity. Certain parts of the woods were peaceful while other trails were horrible in some aspects.

There is alot of strange finds here such as clothes, a TV, fridges, toys, shoes and other material objects. This perhaps is not a friendly hiking place and its obvious that something paranormal exist in this area.

In conclusion we did not find the Stark Plantation but we did achieve alot I mean we covered perhaps miles of woods. We hiked in areas man has not been in years. We may never find this place it might be so overgrown in Florida's lush jungle off anyone of those paths. If anybody has information on the Stark plantation we would appreciate it if not there will be a third expedition planned in the near future to find this hidden jewel.

We worked very hard last night and when I came home my hair was soaked and my socks were dripping. It was a very long night and the sun was coming up. Unfortunately we did not have time to investigate the Beresford Trails but will save that for another time.

All in all Lee did a real good job bushwhacking and clearing the way on the trails. It was perhaps in my opinion of the most perfect adventures we have ever done. Now after nine hours of hiking in two days its time to relax and let old wounds heal. peace
Rick
