I drove past this location many times on my way to Volcano always drew in my curiosity as I seen a Teepee way off in the distance. After I was thrown out of Pardee Lake it was apparent that I would be stuck camping here and that I did. I actually camped here two separate weeks both which I have no regrets of doing so. It is a more free place to toke up....hike at...less rules...less people so much nicer of camping here.

When I arrived the Ranger made himself known he does two patrols a day.....while the caretakers who live in their RV introduced themselves. Its not a high traffic area you get a few campers and sometimes their is nobody up here camping.

I set up camp did not like how hard the ground was so many trees not enough soft land just roots and rocks all over. I thought man why couldn't I camp out in the meadows under one of the big oaks.

The one thing I did not like is the fact that it cost money to take a shower here and its pretty outdoorsy so it was very cold everytime I had to take one. But the price was fairly cheap until the second visit they raised it and I thought why? The land is meant to be free you do not get no amenities so that sort of soured the deal with me although I would camp here again and hope to do so.

Things were strange during my time spent here for example one morning my son got really mad at me and took off. While he left for his hike he came back about an hour later. He tends to run away when he is mad to cool down. Well upon cooling down he came face to face with what I believe was Sasquatch. He told me along the trail was a bear walking on two legs. So I asked him what did the bear look like and he said it had all black, arms, long hair, and more of a face rather then a snout.

My older son knows about bigfoot but my middle aged son had no idea what Bigfoot even looked like. He told me when he ran into it that it just stood there and stared down at him. His story never changes and the height of it was 9 to 10 feet which is why I believe it was not a bear. He showed me in comparison of one of the trees how high its head reached and he ran to tell the ranger. The ranger said it could be a black bear but very unlikely for these parts especially being it was almost moon.

The ranger went out searching found nothing no tracks....not even a sign a bear was in the area later someone wrote me and I checked email at the library. A lady told me that the area has UFO's....and a family of bigfoot's where I was camping at. Because I was posting ads back then to make some new friends to camp with and she just happened to respond said oh your into the paranormal huh....well in that area their is some strange things happening.

I never felt threatened as it was nice to set up the hammocks....cook over the fire....at night I heard some things at times but small animals like deer and possums trying to get into my food.  Sometimes Sneezzer my lion would react to certain things in the woods and just stare into the darkness for hours.

Sneezer is my cat he has been all over the place with me best friend a man could ever own serious. Him and I spent many nights vegging out in front of the campfire. But anyhow his mate which was a female one night went crazy. Of course she just lost a litter of kittens a few weeks prior and well she ran out of the tent....starting going crazy in the woods....rolling in leaves...etc etc

The next morning she disappeared we do not know if she went off to kill herself out of depression....or if somebody took her. But that evening the next day the kids her a cry....so I investigated it and found buried in some leaves a beautiful white furry Siamese kitten. I named him blue because of his eyes and that was the most loyal cat ever I could walk down the streets of Jackson and he would walk right on my side never straying. He would sit out by the fire with me and eat with Sneezer and I. He would take care of the little kitten to that was Sneezers and his mates the others died but we had one named coco you can see her on the rock below. Someone stole her from me at a Salvation Army pasta dinner it hurt so bad.

I eventually gave blue to someone and he is doing very well I probably saved his life and he just loved climbing trees at Indian Rock all the way up to the top 50 feet haha. I do not know if you believe in curses perhaps karma but my sons and I did steal firewood at times to keep warm we had no choice no money. Not to mention the fact that I had sex in one of the teepees with a full native American woman one night had her drive all the way out to Sacramento took her night hiking then went right into one of the teepees haha.

Later during the week in my stay the bearing on my car went and I had it towed to Jackson where the windows got smashed out. It was not a good time in my life because once I was stranded I was on the Streets of Jackson and a friend gave me a ride a second time back to Indian Grinding Rock just to camp while waiting on my car part to come in.

What did not help in making me homeless is the fact that I almost paid 5 dollars a gallon in gas so you can imagine how expensive it was for me to live in the woods...then go into town just to get groceries or the kids off to school. One reason why I opted to run for president in 2012 is to prevent this ever happening to another family again. No family should go hungry, cold, or homeless because the government will not regulate energy prices.

I will always remember this place my last day here I listened to the ranger give a tour they had schools come up with alot of people. That was after of course two weeks before hand one of the largest powwows in central CA took place here. The ranger had alot of interesting stories about the rocks and area.

One thing that I admired is the large oak trees near the Indian village. It was just an amazing place besides the fact that two vicious dogs chased my sons and I down a hiking trail one evening. We seen some odd chairs and things in the woods. So we walked up to a wood fence and all of sudden dogs starting chasing us it was like hmmmm. Its an odd area but very secluded....I spent a week here hiking into town hence the hitchhiking picture you see.

In a way camping here was living like the Miwok people!
