The Providence Baptist Church Cemetery was organized around 1887 with fourteen members of the area. In the 1800s they called this area as Harlem. The cemetery sits very deep in the woods down a dirt road and eventually opens up to an area surrounded by pastures on each side. I am sure not much has changed through those years as the farms were handed down through the same families over the years which attended the church and even were buried behind it.

In 1908 the entire property sold for less then 500 dollars church and cemetery. Now today its worth almost a quarter of a million dollars. A sanctuary was built in 1937 to replace the old one  and was made from the logs that were taken to the sawmill. Eventually in 1964 once again another new sanctuary was built and was roughly 40 by 50 feet.

In 1981 a school was built and fellowship hall which was now part of the church and once again a new sanctuary was complete in 1983. Eventually the land in front of the church was also purchased which would be used for recreation like a playground...maybe a ball field etc. I did notice alot of toys and sports apparel surrounding the church its a pretty family orientated place.

Over the last century their have been over 30 men that were pastures here.  The cemetery has bulls and cows grazing along the fence but its very spread out the graves are not close together unless its the older section of it. Its a great place to see the stars and a fairly old area.

Not only that but its also an area where the Bardin Booger has roamed so that just adds to the eeriness.
