Peniel Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Putnam County which is offered referred to as old Florida. It sits behind the old Peniel Church that was moved from across the road from where the new brick church stands today. The cemetery is heavily covered by willows and oaks very shaded.

Many Confederate soldier veterans and pioneer settlers are buried here and some graves are illegible. However one of the oldest listed is a child one years old that perished in 1881 but I am sure their are burials that predate this one.

This is a paranormal investigators dream come true type of place with its old tilted graves under willow trees...its also very dark here. I felt alot of energy present. Other then that I do not have much history on it most of Palatka is full of various cemeteries but the earlier cemeteries that were erected were ones like this one for its early settlers.
