Union Grove Cemetery
 
This has got to be one of the spookiest Cemeteries I ever been to. Like Providence it sits down a long dirt road in the woods. But this place was more unfriendly...thicker woods....a dirt road that dead ended right at the cemeteries gates.  It was a real secluded place not hard to find just that from what we gathered nobody had been back here in awhile.
 
I could not even open the gates as plant life grew all around it. When we entered the cemetery parts of the grass were past my waste.  The grave in the wrought iron area was overgrown with heavy brush.  I could not even read the sign at the front entrance cause the vines grew around it.
 
If there ever was a perfect cemetery in FL to investigate this was it. I wish I had better cameras....equipment but I do not so I make due with what I have. All the graves were almost from the 1800's you could not read a majority of them.
 
Most of them were tall tombstones...some were tilting...some were on the ground...some broken right in half. The only way out was the dirt road back other then that woods on ever side. Half of the cemetery only had one grave while the other half had about 40 old ones buried by brush.
 
The cemetery was rough to walk around and the comet looked beautiful as it was illuminating the cemetery last night. There was an old trailer sitting behind the cemetery apparently the little dirt road near it in the woods leads to another ranch or some private area.
 
The one feeling I came to conclusion with this place is a strong strong feeling of something watching us. I felt like the ghost were dead cells because it was not a visited place its more forgotten and abandoned. Its like nobody cares all the brush is just brown and dead....there was a giant hole in the ground like someone dug up one of the graves. You could tell that over the years some bad things happened back here to this cemetery.
 
We heard two owls nearby one was right by the fence up in the tree. The owl was making an odd noise I have to agree with her I never heard a noise like this it was chilling and I have heard a lot of owls in FL over the last few years. So who knows there are things out in this world that go beyond our understanding.
 
I felt a few cold spots...Donna geared up the van to leave I was having problems shutting the gates. Before I left I photographed a giant spider on a web near the entrance. This thing had a web bigger then me. Definitely a place you could make a horror film at.
 
We left the ride to the main road was a lot quicker then the ride to the cemetery. We had a lot to celebrate...we hiked in the Bardin Woods....did three cemeteries that also were in the heart of where this creature roams and we found all these locations.
 
Donna stopped at the gas station...I had some food from my cooler then we went to our last place of the night which Donna showed me called Palatka St .Joseph's Cemetery.
