Tiger Bay

We entered the North side of Tiger Bay which is split into various tracts of land and a main route which splits it north and south. With 23,000 to 27,000 acres of exploring we knew that anything or anybody could hide in such a secluded location.

We traveled towards Indian lake and eventually the concrete road turned into a dirt one pretty typical for woodsy roads in central Florida. We had to find an area we could park and hike. The area was quite odd I mean you could see various ecosystems when driving such as Pine Trees, then Your Swampy areas, and lakes which were heavily hidden by tree growth.

We crossed over this wood bridge in the middle of the woods and eventually parked the jeep at the Rima Ridge Tract which is an area near Indian and Scoggin Lake. I am sure you know why I chose the Indian Lake area. We started to hike at the Buncombe Hill Trail. Although their are other trails in the area this one had some historical significance.

We grabbed a map and guide to the trail so we could read about each site visited. Their were a total of I believe 22 sites most of them talked about the various plant life such as one marker talked about the fungi and mushrooms. While another one talked about a pine plantation and then another marker was about a common cactus which grows in Florida. But my main interest was the Turpentine Camp and Sawmill as well as a homestead so we focused our hike on that.

We started to hike down the trail it was a fairly warm night but when you hit a cold spot it was very obvious. Many times we hit cold spots not to often but at certain times they were strong or rather the temperature dropped 10 degrees which is quite drastic. Whenever it dropped that is when I seen the ectoplasm in the flash. Lee said he seen quite a few entities pull away whenever I took a photo or rather go the opposite direction.

Their seemed to be alot of advanced entities on the trail Lee speculated it was a Sentinel Indian Spirit perhaps something like a forest guardian. A spirit that perhaps watches over the land and protects it. But whatever it was kept its distance. Aaron was lagging behind so we got his adrenaline rushing by ducking down behind a bush I then jumped out and made a gorilla sound and snapped a photo he was screaming hahaha. I could actually sell videos and call it faces of fear from PGS or something.

The trail was quite intense lots of twist and turns. Most of it was very enclosed by brush while some areas were very wide open. We could see the difference in ecosystems for perhaps 10 minutes you are walking in a pine forest then your cypress wetland. It just constantly changes and which makes it interesting because certain areas perhaps might contain something Cryptid. One part of the trail I remember seeing a bunch of slender tall trees all crisscrossing each other making a black natural tunnel. So lots of interesting ecosystems.

We started off with one bigfoot call I did not get much then we did it again and heard a scream in the woods. It sounded more like a cry. Then moments later we heard more then one as if their was two of these creatures communicating. They were not human these were vocalized screams not a bear, deer or bird but something rather large. It was not to far off a couple miles at most.

After this we heard the screams a few more times. Granted it one tract of land in Tiger Bay is for campers but what I heard came from the woods. We heard in about a half hour period around 7 screams some were strong some were low tone. Their was more then one of these creatures. Their was a pattern to them not like a human just howling but rather a fluctuation in the scream like something was communicating with us or with something else in the woods.

The trail at times would cross some dirt roads one of them with a gate so we had to be careful as it seemed at times a few cars went down these dirt roads. Some just pass through the woods because its a shortcut to Ormond Beach but still we did not want to draw any attention to our investigation. When looking down the dirt roads they look like they went on forever.

We also heard a boar on the trail for the longest time that is when we approached what use to be part of a Turpentine Camp and Sawmill. Nothing remained but some pottery, stone foundations, and glass. We did not find to much it was a large open area with a giant tree in the center that hung in all different directions. But we did find a stone slab, a glass broken bottle, and some clay. We found what use to be part of a foundation as well. So it was obvious something use to be here. The stars were so visible in this area and Chris seen a meteor above us shoot across the night sky.

We then started hiking down the trail and it was real wide with a bunch of oak trees just hanging over the trail. It was like something you would see out of a movie really intense. We found a wooden homemade bench in the woods we took breaks periodically.

We also started to hear people at first it sounded like guys but then as we hiked further the sound of women became more clear. I actually feel bad I am sure these girls probably packed up their tent and ran home after hearing our bigfoot calls, then screams in the woods, and me making gorilla sounds trying to scare Aaron haha. But hey what can I say it comes with the job.

The trail was very broken at times we almost lost site of it since one of the post was missing and parts of the trail really started to twist with some very overgrown areas. We found another bench in the middle of the woods. We also reached the homestead area which was supposed to have remnants of a home which was here in the 1920s. We hiked back into the woods we did not find any plates like the directory we had said. We were hoping to find the remains of the homestead but came up empty.

Their was also alot of reflectors on trees deeper in the woods probably hunter trails. They probably mark the trees so they can find their way out. But the one reflector we found was odd it was deep in the woods. It was a square piece that looked like a transmitter like Lee said it could be used to send some radio signal. I thought to myself it is just a reflector for hunters at night. But it was pretty odd looking to have a square piece tacked into a tree probably nothing but still we all talked into it saying something strange then Lee put it back into the tree and he melted it with his lighter. I made sure before Lee burned it that I spoke into it revealing that Aaron is responsible for it and lives in DeLand haha. But seriously it was odd and when I use to investigate up in Warren the government watches them woods so why would this area be any different? So was it a transmitter in a tree or just a reflective tack?

Eventually we kept on the trail and hiked on out of here with perhaps some relief since it took us a couple hours of hiking and stopping at 22 areas on the trail itself. But the most apparent things on the trail were the cold spots, screams, and movement. I heard at one time what sounded even like a groan. So it is obvious their is something in these woods both Cryptid and ghostly.

We then got into the Jeep and took a dirt road which went for quite a ways until we reached these cross roads. All you could see is these long hilly dirt roads going four directions.  Lee took this road that was very soft, muddy, and with with puddles. The tired marks from a previous vehicle were fairly deep and this road was rough. I commend Lee for driving down this road it was rough we were being yanked left and right, bouncing up and down, Aaron dozed off so I was watching his head hitting in the window in the jeep haha and it felt like we were in a derby race. Lee could not slow down or we would get stuck so we were doing about 40mph as the vehicle was sliding left and right. This was like being in a safari. The stench on the road was horrible to maybe bigfoot or maybe the fact that we were passing through bogs.

Eventually we reached the end of the road and their was a gate with a truck on the other side. This was not a residence but it also did not look like a friendly place so we turned around in front of the gate and went back. We managed not to get stuck but we did slide and almost spun around eventually coming back out on the cross roads. The jeep started to overheat so we took a break at the crossroads.

We seen far off in the distance two red lights, a tower, and this rotating radar antenna. It looked like something you would see at area 51 or some government base. I took the guys down the road so we could check it out and I thought perhaps it could be something to signal planes since the airport is only a few miles away but the guys speculated that it perhaps might be some government installation. Nobody would suspect it since its in the middle of nowhere and like Lee said it could just be one of those small stations where they could monitor things. It could be a radar or signal station of some kind who knows. We got pretty close and a security light blinked on and off. Their was multiple buildings, transformers, fencing with razor wire surrounding the buildings and this place was like a fort. The radar antenna you could just hear spinning around making the whooshing sounds. This spinning radar antenna was circling around very fast and it was huge. We did not get to close but it was obvious that this place has a greater purpose. We could not get close enough for photos but I did notice in one of the buildings a light was on. I mean this place was in the middle of the swamps so quite odd.

We walked on back to the car it was a pretty good hike down this dirt road discussing on what this place could be. I mean if it was just a radio antenna or for airplanes why have all them concrete buildings surrounding it. So lots of theories and maybe a daytime visit will help us learn more perhaps even photograph it during the day. Anyways we got back to the car Aaron said he heard some weird noises outside the jeep while he stayed back. I am sure we were all being watched.

Our ride back seemed just as eerie it was past 3am and we were making our way back to the entrance where I took some photos of the signs and bulletin board. Their seemed to be some ghostly activity at the entrance maybe something was seeing us out I mean we made alot of noise in the woods trampling around hiking, talking, and mimicking gorillas. But it was quite an investigation and Tiger Bay lived up to the adventure I thought it would be.

We probably will return here a couple times the area is vast and although I seen no big cats the woods seemed to be haunted by native American spirits and perhaps something more Cryptid in nature. I do not think we were alone in the woods but you could notice that in certain eco systems their was more activity such as near the Turpentine Camp their was alot of cold spots where people probably lived and died here. Then in the pinewoods their was bigfoot activity perfect for perhaps something to hide in and graze under the trees. But their was also alot of strange bird sounds, boars, and other obvious things so the whole area is pretty active.

Many of the roads seemed to go on for miles to nowhere so lots to explore and with that in mind we came back with a great adventure and some photos to show it. It was alot of fun exploring these woods we all had a blast. Peace
Rick
