Stage
Coach Ghosttown & Cemetery
We actually had a little trouble finding the woodsy road that led to this
place. As I saved this place as one of the last places cause it is in a
very secluded and eerie area.
Driving down this very hilly, foggy road it was apparent that we were in a
national forest. Nothing but dirt roads and a lot of thick woods. Lucy
said to me it reminded her of Virginia. This was a pretty eerie area I
mean anything could come out lumbering across this road. We did not even
see a single car.
We arrived in front of the cemetery and there was a fence the gates were
wide open. There was also a giant white wooden sign. We parked out front
and gathered our equipment. I am really hoping I got some good EVP here.
I went out away from the car and heard what sounded like the whisper of a
woman say come to me. It almost sounded very seductive sad to say but I
was feeling a little passion here ghost or not damn. You bet your ass I
went into that cemetery after I heard that.
The cemetery was not very large but it appeared that the newer stones
appeared on the eastern section while the stones from the ghost town
remained on the west side. It was fairly segregated in old from new.
I felt many different ghost and at times thought I heard some voices or
whispers as if what was here was talking and watching us. The cemetery was
very peaceful my voice would echo everytime I would talk. I seen another
meteor burn up in the sky when I went off by myself.
We really took our time with this place reading various stones and in the
old section some of them stones were broke in half, leading against a
fence or tree, or just illegible. The cold spot activity was really
intense here and Lucy felt something wrapped around her the whole time
actually at first they were cold towards her. But I kind of stayed near
her for awhile and they seemed to warm up to her so I started taking some
pictures of her in the cemetery.
There was some children stones here and eventually I went off by myself
again when a very huge pine cone fell out of the tree. It missed me by
inches and at the force it fell it would have definitely hurt me. I felt
as if something was toying with me the entire investigation not anything
evil just something that was lonely and wanted to play with me.
Lucy told me something pulled on her jacket moments later so the cemetery
seemed to have a lot of different activity here. This had to be one of the
more intense supernatural hotspots I been to. But I liked it here and I
could probably have stayed there all night getting EVP and ghostly photos
it just was a real hot spot at that moment.
We then got into the car to search for the ghost town which is this little
dirt road you take back to get to it. We could not find it so we turned
around and I got out of the car only to find out that it was a very small
trail which ran parallel with the cemetery.
I noticed about 5 tracks in the dirt of some unknown animal. They almost
looked like elephant tracks they were just very deep and round. One of
those tracks was imprinted into some very hard ground so whatever this was
had some weight. We thought it may have been a bear or horse but there was
no pad marks or hoof prints. The tracks went for about 10 feet and it
appeared they were bipedal based on the strides. Maybe a adolescent skunk
ape? Its hard to say but they just disappeared which was strange.
We gathered some gear and headed on off to the pond area which has a stage
coach in the center of it. The road we took twisted and turned. There was
a few paths which derived off of it and this giant open area with a hardly
any trees just a lot of tall grass. Based on my research this probably was
the site of the ghost town called Stage Coach. I mean technically if there
was no trees chances are at one time the town resides here in this large
clearing.
We stuck to the road which at times was hill and the terrain was fairly
rougher then usual. We must had walked about a mile back in the woods and
we could hear the frogs from the pond nearby. We just could not find the
pond. Near the pond is one of the last remaining remnants of the ghost
town which I wanted to find more then anything.
We found this one private road which had bullet holes in the sign which
said road closed. Some of these roads I am sure lead to some pretty
interesting parts of these woods.
We went back to the giant clearing again and I went off along through the
tall grass. I am sure there was some snakes in there but for the most part
the ground was flat and cleared out. You could tell something existed here
at one time. But after a few hundred feet I turned back.
We went further down the path almost back out when I kept hearing them
frogs so I saw an area where the foliage was not so thick and headed on
off into the woods. I had Lucy and Charles stay back because I knew this
was not going to be a fun journey with what I had in mind.
I started to follow the frog and duck noises in the woods. Jason and I
were in very deep thick and I was weaving us in and around various bushes
as well as trees. It was apparent nobody takes this path and we entered
this one area or clearing which had a bunch of vines and trees just a
little taller then me.
We were working our way through the vines water was splashing us in the
face cause they were wet and eventually we came across a giant
blockade of brush. That is when I heard something coming towards us it was
big it was on the move and it was getting closer. Basically we were
sitting ducks here with nowhere to go even if we wanted to.
Then I stopped it stopped so I figured I would follow whatever this was
cause it had my curiosity. When I started to track it down this giant bush
moved it was like something quickly started to go into hiding. We were
less then 12 feet away from it yet we could not see it. But basically
whatever it was crossed out in front of us went down behind some thick
foliage and stopped moving.
We kept on and eventually made it to the pond. The problem was that the
grass was high and with each step we took the water got deeper. Yes we
were walking with the gators lol and Jason's light was dim so we could not
look for the old stage coach. Damn even if we wanted to we would
probably have to walk in deep water to get to it so I had us turn back.
Strangely I found a small wagon trail along the west edge of the pond. It
seemed very old and unused no even human tracks here. I found a few very
large oak trees back here probably a few hundred years old so this area
was obviously very secluded and very few probably know about it.
We took this trail and something was following us sounded just like what
we encountered earlier. It was heavy and cutting right through the brush
at ease. I again seen brush moving along with us out in the woods yet was
not able to see any type of animal.
Whatever this was had to be very smart and predatory. It kept its distance
but it followed us till the trail started to bend around to a main trail.
We had at this time woods on both sides and we were away from Lucy and
Charles for awhile so I was just trying to get back to them. Anybody have
any good two way radios that they can donate? Cause honestly they come in
handy in situations like this.
We did get back to the main dirt road not to far from the ghost town
clearing and I called out to Lucy and she called back. We actually came
out of the woods up ahead of them and met up.
They told me while we were away something was watching them and branches
were breaking as something was approaching them. I think its safe to say
that there are more then just ghost that roam this ghost town. We got some
cold spot activity and shared our stories then headed back to the car.
This was a very intense investigation as it carried two parts to it and of
course two sides as far as supernatural activity goes. We then visited our
last location which was the Wildwood Train Graveyard.
