Last Night's Investigation Report....

Well
we kicked off 2007 with an odd but nonetheless crazy PGS adventure last
night. When I say crazy our night had everything from odd to being
stranded to seeing a nice upgrade to a GPS on a lap top lol. Andrew and I
headed on out to the heart of Central Florida to do around four places we
only completed one location called Split Oak Forest due to obstacles of
course it would not be any fun with complications.
It was nice to get back into our crazy adventures and I would never pass
up this for the world. I think whether you have one investigation or many
in a night its all about the rewards that come with it and some are nice
some not so nice. But we always come threw and well I bring to you the
very mystical Split Oak Forest.

Andrew and I stopped at the store picked up some food and drinks. I had
not eaten in two days cause I am having chest pains lately and internally
I was suffering with every breath. So I just wanted to get some fresh air
I told Andrew anything we encounter bear, alligator, etc I will just bite
back cause I was not running no matter what I ran into.
We spent a good hour looking for this cemetery by some lake could not find
it and I was burnt out looking. Their is so many cemeteries in Florida
they build over or around. Actually their is more twisted roads that go
around swamps, lakes etc then anywhere I been so finding it well forget it
so we just moved onto Split Oak.
Going down the road in the forest was pretty eerie seen a few houses then
past that point it was all nature. Down the end of the road we could see
threw the trees 3 structures all lit up I told Andrew that must be the
offices since they have camping and cabins here. Little did I know what I
seen changed the course of this investigation.
We toked one up what the hell if your going to get eaten you myswell do it
in style lol. Then we started hiking down a trail which started off in an
open area eventually changing into a huge pine forest. I could smell the
pine scent and the cones were very large. The moon was a gibbous but it
was so bright we did not use any lights at all most of our hike.
Our main journey we would take would be to the historic split oak I just
had to see it and who knows what else awaited us in this forest. We had
about a 5 mile hike planned all together that is not to bad it just meant
we would cover most of the forest.
We came across a dead forest at one point but it also seemed like certain
parts were burned to control its growth. Out of the many woods I have seen
in FL this one you could tell was ancient some of the trees were so large
with moss hanging to the ground over the trails. It had a mystical sense
to it or at least it looked that way.
We came around an open prairie to our right and see a patch of woods with
odd lights moving around it was not a car may have been a spotlight but
they were moving left to right for a little bit. I know of another
entrance in these woods so may that was some campers since the area we
went we were the only vehicle. But it was weird and we stood still watched
it for awhile and they vanished. No campfires nothing just lights.
We did hear some movement in the woods of course their are animals we did
not see any but lots of horse tracks here we noticed. The trail after
awhile of being sand hardened up with pine needles and eventually we
reached a split in the trail.
This did not appear to be on our maps as it was a loop but yet it went
three different ways. The forest was getting thicker and to a point some
trails looked like a tunnel that is how thick the tree growth was. But
then eventually we turned back and ended up in an area full of oak trees
some of them were massive and tall.
Andrew and I at times went off the path a little and unlike most FL forest
this was the trees were very spread part so we had fun cause we were able
to explore further from the path. The path meandered a lot constantly so
at times we lost site of it and the moon was not so visible the deeper we
went inside.
Along the trail was another one we came across which went near Lake Hart
which to me looks more like Swamp Hart. But anyhow we followed it for over
a mile where we actually found this hidden path so we took it. The terrain
went down hill and soon we were walking in wet mud and we almost came to
the edge but had to stop cause for one gator's and two just poor footing.
But we got a nice close up view of the lake then moved on.
Eventually we finished off the lake trail came across this small pond in
the middle of the forest with a twisted tree moon was peaking threw it was
very picturesque we actually took a break here. I just could not believe
the beauty of this forest. I walked around with my hand on my chest most
of the evening and Andrew asked me a good question as to why I put myself
at risk to do this since he still is fairly new to our team.
I told him for the glory of it accomplishment seeing things doing things
for our fans, friends, members etc. If I let every little thing get me
down no work would ever get done the paranormal is never ending the moment
you sit home is the time you might miss out on seeing a ghost or bigfoot.
I mean time and time again the sacrifices we make involve ourselves to.
We made our way back onto another trail we almost got lost the trail was
not marked so at times the large openings in the forest made it look like
their were other trails going off in the woods. I found a tree off the
path that was at least 500 years old trust me I got photos the trunk on it
would take at least 8 people all the way around touching hands to cover.
This thing was monolithic compared to other trees in the area.
You could tell this area was not touched by man in a long time I enjoyed
it and eventually we came to the main trail finding the giant split oak.
Andrew and I read the history and walked right between the split oak tree
ducking under a limb. This thing is huge definitely surpassing 200 years
old. We took a lot of photos and took another break here it would be
awesome to camp out under this tree I mean this is the type of stuff you
see in a Lord Of The Rings movie just a lot of old twisted trees but the
split oak is something that just amazes me.
Many of the branches grew on the ground some were very thick and the tree
grew in all kinds of directions. We were awed but it and then moved on
down the trail. We ended up coming upon an old abandoned farm which was
used to raise cows talk about eerie.
We were not sure if anybody had a shot gun pointed at us by the time a
bullet would reach us we would be dead. We were not sure of what we would
find at such a place. It was a pretty beat up farm except for the house
but we noticed the grass was maintained to a point it was not as high as
the one horse ranch we visited a few months ago so somebody had been here
in recent times.
Their was a stable, a work shop, some shelter off in the distance, and a
small barn of some kind. We took our journey slowly threw here cause it
just was a foreboding place I mean you do not come across farms in the
middle of the forest all the time and lets face it here in FL you can get
shot it does happen.
Andrew told me he has made his peace and is ready to die lol and I was
pretty excited about having a deeper look into this place. The small
workshop was empty open cupboards and what we noticed is that their was no
power to this farm working so apparently it was abandoned or at least it
was not used at the given time.
Andrew showed me an old trick with a certain type of wood which does not
burn out for awhile he lit it and put it on a stump he did put it out but
I thought it was interesting. We did not visit the house out of respect
the woods for us were good enough at this point but we did end up smelling
a little bit of reefer lol maybe someone is growing some crop out in the
FL backwoods who knows but we smelled it.
We cut across the field to this shelter it had no walls just held up by
logs with a concrete floor. Maybe someone put tractors underneath it like
a carport that is my guess.
We did head on back and checked out some garage which had a lot of ripped
up paperwork and rotted files of some construction company. We started to
learn the farm was owned by a vet we seen a split oak trail map, photo,
and calendar going back to 2000.
We then went to the stables where doors were ripped off and torn from
hinges. I just think it was odd I mean the farm was being sort of
maintained yet the stable doors were ripped off and laying on the ground
some were still hanging barely by a hinge. An owl or bird freaked out and
it almost got us as we were exploring around the stables lol.
I found the stables to be the coolest places to check out you could feel
something was here just watching. In the back of each stable was wood
slats and passages which we could not get to. It was obvious that this
person raised horses but I am sure it had also cows as well since their
were pastures surrounding the farm.
We decided to leave a giant cross was at the entrance to the property
almost eerie in a sense. We then walked down the road started a bird in
the tree. To our right was a pasture and to our left was split oak forest
the moon graced the road and I told Andrew it reminded me of some alien
abduction movie I was raising my hands to the sky but I was not taken
grrrrr.
We did get back to the car stripped off the gear took a break and I just
realized something. I looked down the road and said to Andrew remember the
lights they are gone. The lights we seen when we first parked the truck
came from the farm but the lights on the farm were gone when we arrived
and when we arrived back at the truck. So did we come across a ghost farm?
I think so this is a place without power and we were only a half of mile
away so it was not to hard to see the light on the structures when we
first arrived but upon leaving those lights were gone. But when we arrived
their was power to this place so weird YES and I knew I should have taken
the truck before we hiked to go check it out but I figured we would hike
and then pull up later to the office get a few brochures well it was not
an office it was a farm we just happened to hit it from the back side
along our hike accidentally.
Then all of sudden down the road came a vehicle it shut off its lights for
a little bit then moved up the road at great speed passing by our truck
which was not visible cause it was in a parking lot for the forest. They
went to the end of the road turned around we then ran up the trail ducked
down in a bush you got to understand that confrontation is the last thing
you want chances are anybody who is out at 3am casing your truck probably
is bad news.
They did leave and we got back to the truck so we could as well. It was a
great investigation just a lot of strange things we seen along the way. At
one time we did hear something in the woods break a branch heavy but I
think Split Oak is more mystical then haunted. I also think their was a
ghost at the farm we found following us around. When we left the farm we
hit a very intense cold spot then a very intense hot spot even Andrew felt
it just totally little things that made us curious.
In conclusion to our report the night was not done yet we did have another
cemetery we did not find it we spent 2 hours looking for it and realized
this was impossible. We were in an area that was full of hundreds of roads
and some of them broke up in different areas so like you would have one
road a mile away from another road with the same route just odd we found
another cemetery but I did not want to check it out I had my reasons just
not a good area.
After awhile we decided to go on to our last hiking locations and I heard
an odd sound in the truck ended up breaking down. We managed to get it in
front of a massage parlor sorry did not get the happy ending like I wanted
lol. They were closed just like everything else in the area. Andrew took
off he needed smokes I pushed my truck to a better location remaining then
locked it up and went to seek him out.
I was starving thinking of food and food only lol so I got a hot dog at
this gas station man it sucked. The people were pretty scary working their
was not sure what the lady did with it before I got it and Andrew came in
and I guess told the guy off for giving me dirty looks working their. I
mean that is how people are down here nosy and rude. They cannot ever just
be helpful or friendly. But the hotdog sucked big time cheese ran out on
me, chili was empty, oceans were shriveled yeah welcome to Aunt May's
redneck kitchen whewww lol.
We then walked back to the truck to wait on a tow truck sprinklers went
off almost got me when sitting down Andrew and I waited almost 2 hours for
one to appear. In the mean time we were about to push the car to a side
road buy a ticket to Universal Studios which we were parked near get
stoned have some beers and ride the Hulk trust me we were that close.
Andrew was like hey Rick Imagine us stoned, up all night. buying a few
drinks walking around first thing in the morning in the park you throwing
up the hot dog me stumbling all over oh yeah we had it all planned out.
Andrew wanted to get into the massage parlor go take a nap me I was on the
hood of my truck sprawled out then help arrived.
The tow truck came it said performance towing and Andrew and I look at
eachother thinking is my vehicle going to be safe on this. Cause I got 4
wheel drive so they had to hook up four extra wheels on the truck and
everything else. It was crazy sun was already up some guy was jogging his
ass off I was hungry for more what was on my mind is pancakes lol.
We climbed into the truck the tow truck driver named Pepi told me not to
look back at my truck in 3 years he never lost one ha. But he had Andrew
hold the laptop and we were checking out his GPS system and then all of
sudden porn popped up and Andrew said ummm I think the GPS got a lot
better.
Oh yeah we spent about 45 minutes looking at every type of woman you
could ever imagine in his screen saver and still did not get to see every
one. But I heard some pretty good jokes from Pepi on the way home and of
course when the older lady popped up he told me about how she still looks
good has some miles left on her.
Yeah it was quite a ride home especially when he told us about his
foursome, party days etc but the guy was pretty cool I mean as if he could
not tell we were stoned and crazy to be in downtown Orlando a that time of
night or morning. We almost did not get a tow cause its Sunday most places
were not responding so I am glad he took the call.
I got the truck towed home its going to be out of commission a couple
weeks I have to buy a new clutch for the serpentine belt it seized up so I
have to buy a whole unit which is pricey if I had the tool which is a
whole separate part I might be able to do a temporary fix but ehhhh I do
not so I am stuck home for the next two weeks although Andrew is driving
for next weeks trip so all is not lost.
It was a crazy night you would be stoned to if you were stranded in the
middle of downtown Orlando and no tow truck was arriving. But we made the
best of things I think we were so tired we were cracking jokes left and
right. I am not happy about the truck but it happens we do a lot of off
roading, traveling etc like I said I got to start finding other drivers I
cannot carry the weight on my own and so a little help for new
investigators is appreciated.
But I would not ask for a better man then to be stuck in a small cab with
Andrew and a tow truck driver named Pepi. Its all good going out
investigating has its pros and cons sometimes you get stranded, lost,
break down etc good thing I got Triple AAA but anyhow I got home then went
to go see Aragon cause I love dragons and swords that was about the extent
of my day.
We spent most of the night though at Split Oak was hoping to get the other
areas done but they will have to wait or be rescheduled. Peace
