As you know on May 25th there was a slight possibility that comet fragments could have hit earth. Of course every year we are told this is the year of the apocalypse. Being the founder of the organization I have a pretty open-mind for the inevitable to occur. For millions of years planets have been bombarded by asteroids, comets, space debris, super novas etc and when such cataclysms occur its total annihilation. This has been proven like when Jupiter was hit with a bunch of fragments a few years ago.

If a comet or asteroid hit the planet tsunamis would wipe out states like Florida so I took my family up to northern Alabama where I was at a much higher elevation and could bring all of you some haunted stories from the Birmingham area which was at one time an all white town turned to all blacks after the Civil War was lost. So the history to the area is extremely old.

It has been a really crazy week with me driving for two out of the three days and spent each day at different places. We did visit quite a few places Day 1: Sloss Furnaces, Bass Cemetery Day 2: Birmingham Zoo, Oak Hill Cemetery and Dixie Railroad Day 3: The Whistle Stop Museum. It was a lot of fun just getting out of town. Some of the investigations were during the day so you will not see many ghost pictures but then a few investigations we got some really nice paranormal evidence.

But it was also a rough trip while at the hotel someone tried to attack Ariel I had to chase the guy but we got the guy then two hours later some person tried to pick a fight with me at the police station. Then I had some pimp approach me at a gas station coming home from an investigation at 3 different prostitutes. So the city is a very dangerous place and many of the people around the town are honestly not all their. So if you are a paranormal group and eventually plan to visit some of the historical sites in Alabama be very very cautious. Ariel told me after one of our investigations she said sheesh the cemetery is safer then the hotel we are staying at lol. As a paranormal investigator over the years you start to understand inner peace and serenity when it comes to dealing with the unseen.

All in all it was a pretty nice get away I mean the end of the world did not happen and I pulled off some damn good investigations. So we left about 5am Wednesday Morning pulled in around the afternoon and our investigation begins here.

Sloss Furnaces

We drove down into downtown Birmingham where we entered into the industrial section of the city. Off in the distance we could see the smoke stack, towers, and dim lights surrounding the property. It was a gloomy area lots of high grass, railroad tracks, run down buildings, cracked sidewalks then the gates leading on into the area.

We seen right away 4 to 5 houses on the property. The first one bothered me the most and the floors were so rotted we could not go inside. I sense being watched here and it was cold. The next couple of structures did not have that feeling. There was one restored home called the Duncan House that one we could not peep our heads inside or walk around in.

We did walk into a field found some giant concrete slabs and a few large pieces of construction machinery. We were having some fun with this sitting on the old bulldozer which was out of commission. Then we walked under this bridge which was so eerie with the dozens of concrete pillars and pitch darkness. I did not bring my spotlight so we were sort of in a bind.

I approached various gates leading into the factory when my batteries strangely when dead. So I popped them out of camera and both of them fell down onto the concrete. Then something came from behind and touched Ariel's back stroking her. She got pretty startled and turned really quick. I turned on my light only to find one battery on the ground and trust me I spent about a good half hour looking on the concrete my battery was taken like something did not want us their but then I pulled out a bunch of new ones and was back in business.

We walked along the factory and water tower looking through the fence. There was a brick building to our left all lit up about 3 stories high. It almost felt like their were people working inside. We entered some gates leading into the factory. I seen my first set of furnaces, metal stairs, railings, and brick buildings surrounding us. We were in now and the whole sense of comfort changed. They knew we were here the temperature decreased, I heard noises, felt watched and things started to stir.

We came up to a tunnel and to our left was furnaces and halls into the plant area while to our right was many brick structures with ladders leading up. The tunnel went for a couple hundred feet and when we got about halfway things became all the more clear as to why its haunted. It was the site where many men died here its also has one ghost that shows himself pretty often. I did my thing calmed the activity a little to make it more comfortable for Ariel. I also gave her a knife and about 30 seconds later something grabbed her arm pushing it downward. Was this a sign that the entities felt threatened or perhaps they were trying to tell her it was not necessary since nobody was hiding in the factory. But she said it felt more like a child grabbing her arm and pulling it.

We came out to per say what you would call a court yard perhaps where then men took their lunches. I walked right under the water tower and near the smoke stack. There was a brick building with windows overlooking the yard. There was many chairs and tables out in the yard too for tours. There was also a well of some kind and a few other things.

We walked out of the yard along the factory where there was many old rusted pieces of machinery, cranes, construction equipment etc. It was just a giant yard of debris which we eventually crossed  as we visited a brick building. I believe that building may have been the office for the Sloss Furnaces.

The grounds were odd there was many pieces of art made out of iron like we seen this one thing with spikes, then another made to look like a human figure etc. I walked us down to the pond where pillars were built into it probably the cooling area. I am not sure I will have to do further research. But the grounds here were more relaxed. I was tempted to go into the warehouse area but at this point we had already covered a lot of area and it was nice a nice part of town. There were parts of the factory like buildings, towers, platforms that were dimly lit while other parts were pitch black.

We started our hike back we almost felt chased out. Ariel and I could envision, feel and speculate that many of the ghost were following us. You could feel them on ladders looking down, down long pitch black halls, up above on platforms etc. It really became intense and after we hiked on out of there we could smell flesh burning. Not to mention that in one area near the factory I smelt some kind of perfume. Every half hour there also seemed to be a train that went by screeching and squealing making it hard to hear anything.

All in all we had a pretty intense investigation. I felt the same mass of entities follow us all the way off the property. Its a pretty creepy place just as I imagined it would be when reading about its dark history. With that investigation conquered we celebrated our feat with a relaxing haunted cemetery called Bass.
