Overbrook
Asylum
I honestly had no plans to visit here I knew the history and the existence
of this place but originally I had it planned to do a much larger more
haunted asylum. But Adam insisted we sneak in this place in broad daylight
because he has been inside a million times which in my opinion is ignorant
thinking considering it was swaying from our plans to hike on Mt. Garrett.
I picked up Kristina a friend of Adams cause she wanted to come along for
this one she seemed very nice and very much into the paranormal something
I rarely see in most people these days. As I pulled up to the asylum a cop
was waiting out front to one of the buildings I was not comfortable at all
with this but hey what do I know investigators think its okay to not
listen to their leaders apparently.
We climbed up onto a chair then a railing into a second story window which
led down a patient hallway. The place was just cold and quiet. I wandered
off most of the time alone I felt spreading out a little would be good for
the investigation.
I felt spookiness here but I just could not feel any ghost at one point I
scared everybody and came out from a dark room had to get their hearts
pumping a little. I don't do asylums during the day I was not to happy
with being here during the day period. I get better results at night with
such places.
Kristina mentioned something about a basement and right away the first
stairwell I found I ran off ahead and went straight to the bottom. I
wanted to be in the dark and so when we got to the basement a series of
stairs going deeper into the bowels of Overbrook gave me a more at ease
feeling. Eventually we took a tunnel where you had to crouch the entire
way.
I guess these tunnels lead to other buildings on site. At the end of the
tunnel was a giant room with some wood chairs we went upstairs took a
hallway that was deadly parts of the floor were gone or weak. Nobody
wanted to go so I started walking across the weak floors I figured if
everybody followed me it would be more safe this way. I have done the
whole weak floor thing many times and if you do not know how to do this it
can be very dangerous but I found a pattern in the hall which seemed
strong enough to hold my weight.
We made it to the end their was a wheel chair one of the really old types
then back downstairs down another tunnel which led us to this building
with a bell tower and a room with a fireplace. I also seen a sewing
machine room and room with a hospital bed. A lot of things here were just
left behind a lot of history.
We then made our way out of here everybody left I stayed inside had to
take a pee break. When I jumped out a sheriff drove by on the hill above
and I am not sure if he seen me and let it go but I was pretty upset by it
cause I felt that their is a time and place to investigate such places but
also that this was dropped on me last minute which put the entire trip at
risk. I got in the truck fast and drove off got out took some outside
shots and got out of their before I was going to be stopped. Hence why I
am the leader its because I am a safe choice and think before I act.
Our next place would be Lambert Tower at Mt.
Garrett.
