Old
Salt Park
It took us over an hour to find this place the street to get here was
hidden by a grocery store so we kept passing the damn thing lol. We
stopped at this one street which was gated and security flagged us down so
I asked him if he knew where this road was. He was nice and gave us
directions unfortunately it was a downfall cause he still ended up calling
the sheriff on us. How I know is that we pulled up in the park and parked
the car we started hiking when a sheriff car was shining the light in my
truck yeah we were hiding in the bushes watching this go on lol. I swear
do these people not have any lives down south everybody is so freaking
nosy.
After he left we started taking a few photos. This was a hard place to
investigate all it was practically was is this wood bridge, a rock
memorial, the beach, and parking area. I do think this area was a lot
larger at one time but the golf course and this giant resort consumed the
area.
The place was lively there was all kinds of people walking around, a night
club that was open, and there was people in the parking lot of the resort
which had English accents. So this was obviously a ritzy place. We walked
out onto the beach and then took some photos near the bridge which cross
over the parks parking lot onto the golf course.
I cannot say whether the park is haunted it has a little history to it but
then when the resort was built around it most of it that history had been
erased. It seems like a very big tourist area lots of people out on the
beach even at night. Jason and I needed a break so we went to the truck
and got our fishing gear.
We set up on the beach and I did not like it here the beach was not sandy
at all but very course made of millions of small rocks which were getting
underneath my sandals. We got into the water waste deep and started
fishing. Jason had something break his line I got a nice bite to but it
was very difficult fishing here cause there was a lot of brown sea weed so
everytime we casts out our hook was full of it. Usually when you
surf fish you cast it out and its smooth but it was getting annoying so we
packed on up decided to go elsewhere. Jason found a crab and it pinched
him haha.
We left old salt park a little unhappy it just was not what we expected
but I could see how the confederates here were able to get salt to cure
their meats. The beach was very dark and gloomy but its to active of an
area with people to investigate. So we decided to do fishing elsewhere and
visit the Gamble Rogers Memorial State Park.
