New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church

This find was a real jewel and in reality we were in search of a bandwagon trail and cemetery which turned up a no go. But upon driving around some of the dark woodsy roads I looked to my left and noticed an abandoned church.

The church just looked gloomy as the door was wide opened, the windows were all gone, and the grass was very high growing around it.  The church sat down this odd dirt road with a few small trailers and I could not help noticed people peaking out their windows watching. It was not a nice area believe me but I was compelled to check this place out so we parked.

As we approached the place I felt watched from the church itself. We entered and I started taking lots of photos. The guys seen a gigantic recluse spider. I did not see it and probably lucky cause if you get bit by one you will lose that section of skin which can ruin a good tattoo.

I took photos of the organ, seats, and alter area. It was one of these small southern churches nothing out of the ordinary just a few rows of seats. Parts inside the church felt cold and the boards creaked as we walked around.

Not alot of activity here but we still walked around sensed out energies and left so that the locals would not harass us. Cory walked down the steps and fell it looked like a scene from Jackass I still am laughing about it. He did not get hurt its just that he was walking and tried to take one step to many. I laughed so hard I couldn't even get a photo. So the point is that yes it was very dark and the stairs were pretty beat up at this old wood church. The guys said it reminded me of the church in Jeepers Creepers.

We took some photos of the outside then hid when a car slowly drove by. Their is all kind of nut jobs out at night around here. I remember when driving to this church we seen a guy hiding in the woods on the side of the road just standing their. So it seemed that besides ghost roaming the night so were alot of people.

We took our photos and left I did noticed being watched from the small bell tower. Then we visited our next location which was Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
