Little did I know that one small adventure would turn into a much larger scaled one. That is the thing about being a part of PGS expect the unexpected. I was on my way down to Sonora and Jamestown. Both of these towns are not far from Yosemite just a little north of it. The region is very woodsy and secluded. But at the same time its very historic....such Angels Camp is an old miners town....and Sonora is a large historic city build on the hills in a valley....as Jamestown is just that a very haunted historic railroad town.

I went down to Sonora to find housing I had very little luck housing in CA is not easy to find generally the only way to find it is to go into a house for share. I was astounded or rather this is when I fell in love with the area. You see I stopped at the New Lake Malones first....to view the water from the scenic look out. It was crystal clear blue and I thought wow what a pretty place to hike and perhaps picnic at. the shore.

Right when I went past the Lake I found a plaque and turn off to the cabin road. I would not take it till I finished my business in Sonora and Jamestown. Those are entirely different locations so I will not talk much about them. But on my way back up to Jackson I veered right up this steep grade in the woods along a mountain called Jack Ass Hill.

Eventually after a mile of going up the hill it leveled off and to my left was various animals. Their was a couple houses up here more like small ranches. In a clearing was the cabin site which I noticed was fenced. I was cold so I did not spend to much time out of the car. But I walked up to the cabin, read the plaques, took a photo of one of the llamas. I also seen some turkeys pretty abundant around this area.

Their is a real dismal feeling at the cabin site I can feel the ghosts of the men who once lived here watching me trust me when I say it they are there. Since this is not really a paranormal investigation and more of an exploration below you will find some photos from my trip.

I am hoping to work with the area more its a really desolate place....the road is scenic to the left you have nothing but miles of woods...mountains...and skyline. You try to take a breath and imagine what this place was like in the 1800s and how Mark Twain had to travel by wagon to get to the town which was miles away. 

The entire area is really Mark Twain Country. The Angels Camp theme is all based on the Leaping Frog. But to drive to this cabin and imagine the fact that Mark Twain sat around the fireplace sketching and writing really is something to be admired. Its kind of like the work that I do even if I were to die people will visit the sites I visited or lived at for centuries to come because people like Twain and myself are historical figures in the time line of events.
