Langdale Homestead
 
I had to drive fairly far for this one it was not even in Saint Augustine but more in the backwoods of Florida. My drive down the dark road for many miles lit by the moon built the suspense. Here I was alone venturing into a place I didn't know much about just studied maps...and figured I was looking at an 80 acre homestead to wander around at.
 
I pulled over on the side of the road to gear up cause I wanted to park and just get right to it. I went down the wrong road at first nothing but a few ranches in the woods fell almost into a ditch while gearing up and checking under the hood to make sure my car was doing okay. I put on a couple hundred miles last night and you guessed it cv axle is still not fixed lol.
 
So I parked down this dark road it may have had one other house further down it then started my hike up this dirt road which was so overgrown a vehicle could not even get down it almost.
 
The road twisted and turned...the moon made it look like the house had lights on so I was real careful walking in the woods. This house actually sat probably 600 feet back in the woods and then when you get to the clearing there is the home...barns..guest house etc.
 
Here I am standing in front of the house moon is shining on me I was like thinking watch this crazy person coming running out with there shotgun. Till I realize the lower half of the house was bolted tightly with wood because the house was condemned and believe it or not alarmed to I guess because they are worried about vandals but it was obvious that the house was just a shell like the other structures.
 
I heard something moan in the woods it sounded big it was moving maybe bigfoot I do not know but something was watching me in those woods I felt it..I heard it and I was not alone so I just kept my eyes going 360 at all times.
 
I could not get into anything the barn was falling apart but there was a tunnel you could walk through. The well had a board over it I took it off looked all the way down it lots of spiders and such. There was a few bird houses, some other barn and a guesthouse attached to the back porch.
 
I seen a spider that was as big as the doorknob I got a photo of it not the type you want to get bit by. There was cobwebs all over the property...tree moss hanging from this giant oak which had to be a few hundred years old cause its limbs almost grew on the ground.
 
The house was from the 1800's big white upper and lower porch.....chimney...Victorian type of windows which I felt watched out of. While I was walking around I heard a gunshot fairly close probably a redneck in the area not sure if it was meant for me its not uncommon to go out into the Florida woods at night and hear some rancher firing off shots because there are animals on his property like wild dogs or something.
 
I did not run I stuck it out but I felt ghost all over the place like when my back was turned one way I felt something behind me. I had to shut my lights off and on a lot so I was in the pitch black a few times as the moon went behind the clouds. I did not go into the house but I already knew what it looked like cause I could see in the upper floors the stripped walls looked a lot like the old house I lived at a few years ago.
 
I wandered the grounds a lot took a ton of photos a few EMF readings....I heard things not sure what they were but this place reminded me the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house. I mean you could picture some deranged family living back in here and burying its trespassers. I was alone and I thought about this for awhile while walking around because I was in over my head it was way out in the middle of nowhere.
 
The homestead was very historic you could see it was being maintained or rather cleaned up with the dumpster out back. I enjoyed it and the walk back was not as pleasant it became ice cold like something was following me. The movement in the woods was following me along the winding dirt road covered in leaves. I got to the gate and heard a dog near by from the ranch up the road and at that point it was time to split. I thought about taking a break then going back around the grounds for another round but I looked at the watch and realized that I spent a very long time here as it is so I headed on off.
 
It does not get any better then this folks...moon over an old wood house in the middle of the woods...just me and the unseen.
 
In conclusion to the report...I started to head home stopped at the coolest truck stop ever spent sometime there was tempted to buy me some bratwurst mmmmmmmmmyum but instead got a cup of coffee which was so nasty it came out like black syrup on the way home I threw my cup on some dudes lawn that frauded me a couple years ago people want to piss me off there going to know it. Freedom baby.....moon out...windows open...stars shining.....and only the night on my side. I am not making a tradition to continue my coffee throwing traditions the next couple months before I move lol. 
 
I actually got home rather early jumped online last night for awhile then went to bed. Usually I get home the sun is shining but I made good time spent a lot of time at each place took a ton of photos did my thing and went home. Our next trip will be out in Orlando Probably not sure yet. Tomorrow I am going back to Disney World taking my sons one last time ill try to get a few ghost photos at Disney for the site.
 
Saint Augustine is a memorable place always will be I have almost visited every single site there and then some. I cant wait to get it up on the site in the future. Some of you missed a good one! Peace
