Fort Lane Park

It took awhile to get here as we had to take a series of back dirt roads some of them had not one house residing here. This was some pretty eerie roads not the type of place you want to have a flat tire at. I did not even see any cars for miles.

We reached a long stretch of road which was very sandy and my car was sliding all over the road fish tailing constantly. That road came on out to a small community along Lake Harney which we found Fort Lane Park at.

We pulled in the park and there was a caretakers house on the property which was the only source of light within this dark park. We right away headed on over to the Plaque which tells you all about the fort and park.

Of course from my research there is more history here then just a Fort. It was the place of steamboats, an Indian mound, and even a plane crash.

We went into the Sieg pavilion there was no pamphlets in the information box. There was a fridge, microwave oven, tables, cozy chairs, and a film projector screen. It was really eerie here I felt like we walked into a pavilion full of ghost sitting down looking at us like hey what are you doing here lol.

We investigated took a few photos in the pavilion then exited out to a picnic shelter with a giant stone bbq pit. There was some woods in back and these old stone slabs with engravings in them. The lake was so silent and dead. The water was completely still and the shore on the other side looked so far away.

We heard a loud boat horn way off in the distance which added to the whole eerie effects. We started to explore the park and found a pier behind the caretakers house. There also was a very old oak tree that stood up on two roots that looked like legs. The entire tree looked like it was alive ready to scoop us up. There was some benches on each side of the tree.

We walked around the entire park there was not much to see a few rock gardens, a lot of trees that were very narrow and tall. There was a few picnic benches and chairs around. We noticed a few cold spots but this actually was the least active place of all the places we investigated.

I did however see ectoplasm flowing in front of us. This place was full of energy you could just feel it. We even found an old trail within the park which dead ended near the road. We walked around the park a few times went back into the pavilion once again and Jason decided to lay down on one of the benches in the park lol.

We spent a pretty long time here and I took the longest EVP recordings. Lets put it this way I would have camped here along the lake it was just that nice. Hard to believe that at one time this was a place tainted by death.

We then decided it was time to head home I was picking out sand spurs off of my clothing the whole time home from King Philips Town. It was a foggy drive home but we made it home safely and that Red Bull is not doing my justice I need a new energy drink lol. This was a great investigation with a lot of great photos I am sure. I do not know if we will return to these places but I am really glad we were able to bring you stories on these places.

Many of these places very few know about a couple are well hidden maybe even forgotten so the activity was quite heightened during our adventure. Sure I am walking a bit funny today but it was well worth the journey.
Peace,
Rick
