One Brother Wins Big In The Lottery, The Other Not So Much

Two brothers who bought Powerball lottery tickets in Florida at the same time both won.

 

But while James Stocklas, 67, scooped the $291 million jackpot after going in with two friends, his sibling Bob Stocklas won just $7.

Luckily for Bob, James is the generous type.

 

"We've been laughing a lot about it, he doesn't need to worry about nothing," James told the New York Daily News. "Family's family. He's not going to worry about anything."

 

The siblings were driving back to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in their RVs on Tuesday after a month-long fishing break in the Florida Keys when they both purchased tickets at the Tom Thumb store in Marathon.

 

On Friday morning, James discovered he'd won while eating in his usual hometown restaurant.

 

"I was yelling and I bought everyone in the diner breakfast," James told The Morning Call. "When I found out, I was shaking for an hour straight."

 

He then called his friends and brother to say, "We are going back to Florida." 

 

 

 
 

The family reportedly chartered a private jet to fly them back down to the Sunshine State, where they posed for photographs with their winning checks.

 

James opted to receive the money for his group in a one-time, lump-sum payment of $191,470,307.58. Bob hasn't released details about how he plans to spend his $7.

 

The Tom Thumb store will also receive $85,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
