150 Years AgoLocal affairs: There were 115 votes registered in the Carson precinct and 50 at Empire. 130 Years AgoA long drunk: A. Markley and Frank Thorne went up the valley in a wagon and had been drinking a little. Thorne got out at the flume and Marklev drove the team off to Jack’s Valley where he unhitched the team and let it go. He was arrested on a complaint sworn to by Thorne and charged with stealing. The case was called to court, and he was there, still drunk, and the Justice sent him to jail to sober up.  …
