NDOT warns of some delays at Cave Rock over holiday
The Nevada Department of Transportation is warning holiday travelers they can expect some delays when driving on U.S. 50 near Cave Rock at Lake Tahoe.A contractor is in the process of constructing a 60-foot long, 27-foot tall tunnel extension on the westbound, lakeside Cave Rock tunnel. The tunnel is designed to prevent rock fall from the rock onto the roadway. In addition, white paint and lighting will be added to both tunnels for better visibility and automatic signs added to notify drivers of bicyclists or potentially icy conditions in the tunnels.The project is on schedule, according to District Engineer Thor …
