Carson City businessman raises restitution cash to satisfy plea deal
Lenny Chappell, former head of the Downtown Business Association, on Tuesday turned over the remaining $1,347 needed to satisfy the terms of a plea bargain.He was originally charged with felony embezzlement, accused of taking $7,347 from Platinum Plus day spa where he worked.After turning over the final check to complete restitution, he was able to plead guilty to a reduced gross misdemeanor conspiracy charge on Tuesday. That could get him up to a year in jail but both sides have agreed to recommend probation.Whether or not he gets that break is up to District Judge James Wilson who set sentencing …
