TURKEY — An Australian-born man on Friday released footage of an unidentified flying object.
Athens, Greece resident Kerry Forides, permaculturalist dedicated to preserving heritage food, says he was flying on a commercial plane over the Agean sea when he spotted the object on Wednesday 21.
“It was around 4:30 p.m.,” says Forides, who owns a YouTube channel he refers to as Kerry Cameraworks. “It was flying at right angles from our plane.”
The 3-minute-long film, reportedly shot with an XDCAM-EX1 video camera, shows the object seen through the plane’s window flying vertically and making an 180 degree move until it reaches a horizontal position. The black object, which appears to be extremely thin, stays still and next to the jet for the rest of the video.
“What the crap is that?” says Foride’s wife in the footage.
Forides didn’t elaborate on the size of the UFO.
The YouTube file generated a swarm of comments speculating about the unusual sighting.
Some YouTube users believe it could be a chemtrail. Others, like Nick Zzz, identified the object as a military Greek F4 Phantom II “with the old engine type”.
Another user, Justin Friedman, suggests it could be a missile because of the ongoing war in nearby Syria.
“It maneuvers like a jet or a missile… object to small to make out in all that black smoke,” he wrote.
And Forides was quick to add new information to Friedman’s comment, claiming that his wife had mentioned she had seen a rocket about 30 minutes before the recorded sighting.
In late June 2015, a Peruvian man and his son released a video showing what they referred to as a “UFO fleet”.
Nowadays, it is believed that the advent of drones has impacted UFO reports considerably, as critics make use of the unmanned machines to discredit recent sightings.
In 2014, a nurse and a truck driver reported seeing an unidentified flying object as “large as a football field” in Alabama.
Reported UFO activity remained at a high rate during the mid-to-late ’90s. In 1997, thousands of witnesses reported seeing a similar large triangle-shaped object in Phoenix, Arizona. 18 years later, in early February 2015, three Phoenix men videotaped a similar occurrence.
