**NEW** Updates On Our Site "Johnsville California" Gold Rush Era Town....
A couple years ago I found this semi ghost town on accident while trying to do some research at the cemetery. It begin as a settlement in or around 1849 its fairly well preserved and the town had made about 20 million from its mines. Its not only one of the earliest gold rush towns but according to many locals also very haunted. Id say about half of the structures are restored the other half are boarded up or need work. The most disheartening thing was the vandalism I found in the cemetery.
I need to keep this short because I am quite busy with projects and I spent most of the evening or night working. But I wanted to get this out to all of you for this weekend. The video footage was lost so ill be returning in a couple months to redo my documentary then ill post the footage on youtube. I really did not get to see all of this town because I had a hike up at the Eureka Plumas Mine Camp so I vowed to return and see what else I could photograph and explore.
Anyhow this is a great historical town like stepping back in time never seen no people or vehicles the views were great of the snow capped peaks and next time I go hopefully the saloon is open so I can get a hot meal along with a brew so I can see some of the towns relics. This is a cozy little town a world away from a world just a mile up the road is a mining camp and the sister town of Johnsville which ill be adding next week known as the Eureka Plumas Mining Camp and Jamison City.
