Our Crater Lake Expedition On - 6/30/18 Toiyabe National Forest

When you think you have seen it all you truly have not. Every year I cannot resist to explore the sierras its exciting known how beautiful it is and things you will see. But it also is home to Bigfoot and me of all folks knows this because of my experiences over the years. Not every place you visit your going to find evidence who knows at night how this location is might be a different ball game but I always am checking for tracks and trying to get another sighting of this unknown creature.

I try to visit new locations all the time Crater Lake is really a caldera of a volcano and yes I know their are many crater lakes. But this one in the sierras is special and when you study how large the lake is you think wow this is a huge volcano which probably formed Stevens and Red Peak which overshadow the lake itself. They are both beautiful peaks I have been working around for years on different trails but I climbed Red Peak so its a very nice view for a 150 miles at least. I think I seen Yosemite from the top of Red Peak which is to the south of this location.

The road up to Crater Lake is no easy task its full of ruts, holes, cliffs along it, narrowness where the tree branches hit your truck and its steep. I have no issue taking roads like this when we were nearly at the top to our left was a gorgeous view overlooking the sierras. But I had to take it slow there were big rocks to. It is a few miles to get to the lake maybe four to be exact which still seems like forever when your crawling on rocks but hey ill film or ill blast music smoke a fat joint why not I do not get paid for this shit lol. No less it is quite the road and  I was excited I mean the paranormal evidence I have gotten around Red Peak is quite phenomenal.

Their is something about packing your backpacks and just setting out on another adventure. I am getting sick of people not going out with me though. They miss out on good shit all the time then in the future people ask me to take them somewhere on our site and its like yo we already did it once wont risk it again. You can break axils on these roads its a skill to drive them and well to many other locations to do.

Crater Lake is so blue besides its amazing that at one time a massive lava flow and volcano sat here. Today glaciers have melted forming the terrain and water fills the crater instead. This place is bad ass but also their are trout in the lake and its one of those lakes you do not get to easily which makes it a bit more special. I had no idea what I would find or if the road would be out or how far we would hike. But the thought of exploring this beautiful part of the west is a memory that burns in your mind trust me.

We parked about a mile from the lake the rest was uphill I mean this is a extinct volcano so it sits about 8,600' so if your not use to this elevation you will get sick or be able to not do it but I am doing well physically hiking lately. Then again I have strong legs years of hiking in this region and climbing. But its not for everyone I mean some people are scared of mountains lol.

We were in the Toiyabe Forest I have found great bigfoot evidence in parts of it. Its like a jungle in this forest I mean its surrounded by other national forest  but this one is harsh and it has this brush that can hurt or slice you so we have to stay away from that. But years ago I use to get cut up and have a reaction because the plant causes that whatever is in it and you get severe spasms head to toe and cant even walk for a couple hours. I once got cut up fell asleep on some peak for a couple hours lol and woke up like oops.

Crater Lake

Eventually though we would make it there was about five maybe six vehicles here. I seen some guy stuck because his wheels kept slipping and when you come up on the lake then its steep down to the shore. So some people could not make it back up and out of here. People are so lazy they do not hike or backpack anymore most have to drive to it no matter the cost. But one guy was fishing and his dogs were swimming in the water then he got in a small raft just floating around. I seen others just chilling out maybe walking the lake shore.

However, their are primitive areas of the lake shore you cant get to not without climbing it without steep banks, rocks and brush. This lake is not your typical lake but the view around it is gorgeous and some cliffs still had snow on them. I actually found a snow patch in the woods and jumped in that. It does cool you off trust me and well the sun lately has been brutal no clouds even in the sky its been like that for a few weeks now.

We had a nice break at the lake when you go down the hill sitting on some rocks near the shore. I do not rush my trips I stop here and there to break or get food and drinks. I bring some good stuff with me and I know how to keep it cold all day long amazingly so when I bring beer hours later its ice cold. But we had some good stuff subs, beer, trail mix with chocolate, beef sticks and all sorts of other goodies.

I would end up heading along the shore to the west but as you continue on it gets very rugged. There is a big waterfall on the opposite of the lake you can hike to but its a bit risky too. I seen some folks near it but they did not get to far I guess it got to hairy for them who knows. But I also noticed all the rocky shores means no bigfoot tracks because rocks do not leave tracks. So this was not a lake you could find tracks of any kind at.

At some point you end up hitting a very deep patch of forest its thick but with rocks. Their is this area you have to climb on big boulders then eventually a steep shoreline. Its a deep lake so its slanted but the problem is that their are some points you have to crawl on all fours going around massive falling trees, rocks and dealing with a slipper slope which drops off into the water and well with 60lbs on my back we cant afford to get our stuff wet some of it is electronic and costly.

But we managed to get through the obstacle course and we were not level with this inlet or cove. Further up was this waterfall perhaps 12' high maybe 14'. But we had a nice hour and half picnic inches from the shore. We watched folks starting to leave here pretty soon we would be the only people up here and well even that can be intimidating for some. But I never seen any animals well not true I seen a deer in the brush but it was all by itself and looked at me then ran off.

I eventually climbed above the falls actually I stood next to them looking down it was awesome. I then rock climbed for awhile more found this soft dirt trail which led to this massive open area with brush and it was swampy. You could see the creek of course meandering through it. Off in the distance below Red Peak was literally this 1000' waterfall it may have been 800' but just wow. I stood in this bowl surrounded by cliffs and there was snow on them it was GORGEOUS.

I also had nice views of the entire lake. But the rock climb was rough because the last 50' was small rocks. Behind this rocky outcrop and plateau which had a patch of woods I probably should have checked just a patch maybe a quarter mile but at the same time I hate leaving Tammy by herself especially when all the people with wives and kids decide to leave as it was a couple hours before sunset.

We eventually would make our way along the shore but again had to climb through the forest on a steep slope but we walked to the opposite side of the lake since the guy with the dogs on this peninsula was gone. So we had our third break here where we sat down. I love also toking on my trips ill smoke my pipe at least every 15 minutes or half hour. Its nice to relax enjoy the nature and smoke pure wholesome bud.

Their was this creek leading out from the back of the lake so I followed it and it led to a massive waterfall and cliff. I was standing pretty close but not to close because people get swept away. The problem is the little trail along the creek is so narrow that you could fall in and end up going off the waterfall. But what a nice view. We had the entire lake to ourselves everyone left and the sunset was very lovely.

I think I found a very deteriorated track but when folks step on them because they are not looking it sucks because you think to yourself dang I should have came a day before. But who knows anything is possible you have to understand that on the other side of Red Peak I have photographed UFOs, Found Bigfoot Tracks in the snow, was surround once by multiple bigfoot near Showers Lake on the other side and even dealt with ghost on the immigrant trail. Everything revolves around this peak I am NOT sure why but it does. There are many primitive locations where there is no trail you just push through the woods or giant meadows and you see things that is the perk of going into the bush.

While this was not a huge expedition it was good to be back up in the sierras now that the snow is practically gone. I have not been in the sierras for awhile I spent the past six months traveling to ghost towns, mines and 100 mile dirt roads. So its been a long few months of traveling for me but good to get in the sierras it is cooler actually then where I live.

We did make it to the truck you could see Round Top Peak across this massive Carson Pass in the distance. I once climbed that beat I must had hiked 20 miles that day with my dog and well I made it up there at almost dark but the view went out for 200 miles at least and then the darkness sat in and you could only see outlines of the mountains. But I had a bigfoot experience over there too and a few other places like Elephant Peak a volcanic dome and frog lake. This whole area just is strange and their are bigfoot like creatures here so this is why I do what I do even if it bust my ass. On a good note my ankle is healed I tore three ligaments needed ankle reconstruction but if I keep strengthening it I may not so yay for me.

We left this place at sunset it was almost dark when I descended back down to the pass what a great day. Those woods though are spooky at night driving down this narrow dirt road. I live for this shit really I could die up here from something and still be happy that I died haha its just that pristine and gorgeous here. But I love this mountain range its by far one of the greatest ranges in the entire country and in order to understand it you have to backpack in it because every place is unique or different same with all the wilderness areas and natural forest that surround this area.

I always think I will see a bigfoot cross the road when you ride these dark roads. These forest are very dense some are not in the sierras. But to think your driving down off the mountain in some rugged canyon with forest means anything could be in those woods watching you drive by. By doing this area we can close the gap hot linking some our  best adventures surrounding Crater Lake.

Sure I did not find bigfoot or even the paranormal then again you have to study your photos and video. But that is okay you see someone on every show find something with bigfoot and that is not real. The reality is guys like me travel the west in search of the strange and sometimes I find it sometimes I do not. But I was there and that is good enough our site is not just paranormal its about explorations showing our viewers some hidden gems across the world and I share with you all my travels. I am an explorer and ill go just about anywhere and do anything just like I climbed a small cliff to get to the plateau so no regrets just do or die that simple!
