I am very proud to pronounce a new addition on our site which is the ghost town of Columbus Nevada. When I explored this location I did it in a massive winter storm its crazy the snow was pelting me, it was below zero, no visibility and here I was driving down snowy wagon roads I could not even see and hiking in the expanse cabin to cabin. So I am proud that we pulled this off because if bailed none of you would have the chance to enjoy this little gem of a boom town.
The town was settled in 1865 it transitioned from mining and processing silver ore because ideally the salt marsh its located at had an abundances of water. By the 1870's borax was discovered and many borax mills opened up. The town had about 1000 residents, saloons, post office, iron foundry, hotels, school and many other sites of interest. But today most of everything that was once was is gone with the exception of a few miner cabins, piles of wood, stone ruins and some old milling sites on the hill.
Easily by 1899 the town became abandoned as a matter in fact its not to far from Tonopah or Coaldale other recent additions on our site. So you should really check them all out because they do have connections to one another. This is not a huge addition on our site but its a fun one that people should enjoy if they actually decide to look at our work and feel inclined to learn a little something. Not allot of people know about Columbus its forgotten and resides deep in a salt marsh in the Nevadan mountains. In a storm though your blind nobody will hear you scream and you cant see anything in the marsh other then a few dark haunted miner cabins off in the distance so its a very awesome addition on our site when you look at it from that perspective!

Our Next website addition will be from my adventure up in a place called White Cloud City its amazing as well as I cliff climbed above the canyons mouth where the ghost town resided very breathtaking with good views, stone ruins and allot of great history. So I should have that on next week since this weekend I have a ghost town I am doing that is very secluded and often not so much known about. How can you not love the wild west and all it has to offer a true explorer?
