**NEW** Updates On Our Site "Salmon Falls California" Happy Holidays....
All I can say is that I worked really hard to get this out and the only reason why I am putting out this addition on our website today is because I promised everyone I would. Plus it is Christmas for most of you so I thought you might really find this ghost town intriguing.
It is one of the first gold rush towns established after gold was discovered in Coloma California. The town remained forgotten for decades hidden under Folsom Lake then the past few years drought exposed it allowing us to really do a nice research project on this location.
When the lake was formed in the mid 1900's most of the graves were not moved therefore remained forgotten. Very little of the town remains but we did a great job uncovering what we could. The bridge is the largest landmark that remains of this once booming town which had boarding houses, hotels, saloons, stage coach stop, stores, blacksmith, post office and so much more.
This is an ancient place at one time their use to be a Nisenan Indian Village here. Its a gorgeous place full of nature, scenery, pristine water, foothills of the sierras and not allot of people know about Salmon Falls because you have to hike to it then explore the hills for remnants of the past.
The town peaked out at 3k so yeah their is energy there and many years ago bigfoot sightings in this area were very high. But now its such a growing area that more then likely human encroachment has caused a decline in anything strange but no less it is very historic and dates back to 1848 when Mormons came here to mine gold from a nearby fort.
Its hard to say how long it might stay underwater it was not exposed for very long and when it was I took the initiative to do a project at this place. Your probably going to see more pictures of this ghost town then any other website because people often ride bikes back here really ignoring the fact that a large town once existed here. As a matter in fact when gold was discovered men worked there way along the American River therefore quite a few mine camps sprang up along its bank this one included.
I know that some of you are busy with the holiday but if you get time take a gander. What we do here is meant to inspire others to get out explore more but also to learn a few new things and enjoy the content we make available on our website. So their is a good read, EVP's, allot of photos, good times, remnants of the town and other gems.

This is a fine ghost town think of it as a holiday gift from PGS to all of you. Just remember everyone if you want to see these locations you actually have to go to our site. Our site is more friendly with PC's and I build my site for older computers since many of our viewers come from remote parts of the world.
This is a part of the sierra foothills not many of you get to see you have to hike through the woods then make your way down to the river where the townsite use to be. One day nothing might be left I fell honored to have visited this underwater city. Also this expedition coincides with other projects we worked with nearby places like Gold Bug Mine Park and of course Mormon Island its sister mining town west of this location.
I want to wish everyone a happy holiday I had to deliver gifts last night for the disabled woo did not get home till almost 4am then spent another 4 hours wrapping gifts for my family. I then had to reorganize the furniture, get logs ready for the fireplace and now I am prefixing some things for dinner.
Pretty soon were opening gifts ugh I am to tired to even tear paper I been going for a couple days nonstop no sleep etc. I was so busy this week in fact that I spent the past 24 hours cranking out this addition on our site because I wanted to make sure those who might need some inspiration or maybe your alone on the holidays can find some solitude in this addition besides the fact that the nature is stellar here.
Their is something for everyone when it comes to Salmon Falls and it completes a chapter we have been working on in this region for the past few years. With that being said I put heart into this project slowly but surely I am working hard on gold country the heart of where gold was discovered in 1848 which sparked the rush which in turn led to the wild west's transformation and further development of America as we know it.
These locations that I visit should be taught in public schools but also they are relevant sites to American history and very few know about this place because for the most part all of it has been underwater and we were lucky to have a window where we could check it out and explore this great place.
Anyhow the next addition comes next week its of Sacramento Old City Cemetery a very historical Victorian graveyard full of nature. You will love this place its one of the finest cemeteries in the valley hell maybe even California full of politicians, giant monuments, flowers, crypts etc. Anyhow gotta run please enjoy your holiday and thank you for all your support for PGS.
