Carson City Soroptimist announced the top golfers in its annual Stroke to Help tournament held Aug. 27 at Silver Oak Golf Course.The women’s team, Karen Hoppe, Darcy Johnson, Robin Ponte, and Kathy Streeter, tied for top honors with the men’s team, Paul McIlwee, Rob Brehm, Bill Hammons, and Robbie Janas, with both teams scoring a 49 in the scramble-format tournament. Susan Brown, Nate Brown, Nick Brown, and Carl Wander took top mixed team honors, with a score of 61. Tradition for the tournament, which raises funds for breast cancer screenings, also includes the Boobie Prize, awarded to the last place …
