Nevada State Prison Preservation Society presents ‘The president and the prisoner’
The Nevada State Prison Preservation Society is kicking off a fund-raising campaign on Saturday, Oct. 8, with a presentation on a piece of prison history with a political bent.Glen Whorton, the former director of the Nevada Department of Corrections, will present “The President and the Prisoner” at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 8 in the Ormsby Room of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.The program will review the conviction and incarceration of the only person from the state of Nevada who has been nominated to run for president of the United States.
