It’s with great pleasure that I get to tell you the US Navy Ship Carson City (T-EPF 7) sailed away from Austal’s ship manufacturing facility in Mobile, Ala., Monday morning bound for Little Creek Naval Base, Virginia, to join the US Navy fleet. The ship is the nation’s seventh Expeditionary Fast Transport ship design to haul large quantities of troops, tanks, trucks, and various other military equipment including medical, humanitarian and disaster relief supplies.
