It doesn't take much to convince somebody to eat chocolate.
Americans eat 100 pounds of the stuff EVERY DAY, which seems insane and also totally normal if you know any Americans, but it's been called the "food of the gods" since a smitten Carl Linnaeus coined the term to describe a cacao tree in 1753.
