Tonight was a pretty interesting night as we made some return trips back to some haunted locations. Our main focus was EVP and trying to gather more evidence at various locations we visited months previously. It was a night full of oddities and it seemed this weekend the activity was heightened just a little bit more. We also visited Debary Hall for our first time which has great significance in the area.
We had many encounters last night some ghostly some non-ghostly even the guys stopped at the store in between to get candy for dinner haha. But it was a great night for investigating real warm, clear skies, partial moon out and many bumps in the night just waiting to be unveiled. We started off fairly late which was more or less a walking investigation for the first part of the night and so our journey begins here.
The Dutton Mansion (Investigation 2)
I have to admit having this time a team going here was a big relief because the first time I went alone and that always takes away the fun in investigating. From my standpoint in just a period over a few months this house seems to now be more then halfway restored as all the windows have been put in and doors. Upon even walking in all the debris is cleared out and the place seemed to be more and more having its old Victorian look to it.
We started off in the back hallway and I went ahead of the group near the grand stairwell. Behind me Lee and Aaron mentioned a whooshing sound it was practically right next to them and they jumped. I heard it to do not have the slightest clue what it is perhaps an entity moving very fast or at a higher speed rushing pass them?
We spent sometime downstairs and there was a room that I could not get into the first time here but this time it was cleared out there was no tarp in it and it was a pretty uncomfortable room. Even Aaron mentioned feeling something in here so of all the rooms I would say we were watched here. When I came back in here a second time something was standing outside of this room in an opened doorway. Because I heard movement like footsteps and like something was quickly trying to hide. We also I believe got an EMF reading somewhere near here briefly.
We walked around and checked out the piano which I uncovered a tinch to get a better photo of it. Then we slowly headed upstairs. This is such a big place you really have to be careful of anybody hiding in this place.
Upstairs was much different it seemed the doors to the upper balconies were all attached and the bedrooms were all very clean. One room had a hole in floor kind of eerie to look down.
We did not have a lot of activity upstairs but on a few occasions the heavy plastic on a few remaining window slots started shaking and blowing rapidly. Same type of thing last night. It most likely is wind but at times you have to question it when it happens as soon as you enter that room and starts fluctuating that loud.
Eventually we went up to the attic it was pretty warm here and this in itself is such a big area. We set up base in the attic for awhile. What we did is shut off our lights and just sat listening in the dark. It was fairly calm for awhile then I felt as if something touched my face and we started realizing heavy fluctuations in the temperature perhaps 5 or more degrees at times.
We heard something over to our right perhaps tapping, banging, creaking floor boards etc. but it seemed something was moving around with us inside the attic. Nothing extreme but I worked with the entities a little bit and it seemed certain things really made them more active where at times you would feel it then other times feel nothing. It was interesting though then next door some men talking interrupted that flow and we decided it was about time to head on off.
We worked our way back outside and stepped on into the basement which had a very musty smell. I took a few photos and showed the team it from my last visit. Seems they were using the basement to store doors and windows here. We eventually left and were heading off to the Berry Murder Mansion.
We stopped off at a mini-mart and picked up some snacks then headed on down to our next destination which to my surprise as I approached it something looked different there was no crime scene tape up, the mansion was painted, there was even a light on so that was a big oh no for me type of feeling. As we walked up to the front of the mansion a large dog followed us very slowly. As intimidated as this dog was she was very lovable.
We pet her and the guys gave her some food. It seemed her owner maybe abandoned her because she was pretty lonely and hungry. I told her to sit an took a photo of Aaron next to her. So you see investigations are not always about the ghost you come across but its about many other things to this is just an example.
But going back to the mansion it was restored there is brand new flooring inside, the broken window was fixed, new tiling in the kitchen. Just in a few months the mansion was turned from hell to looking as if it was brand new. I believe that its going to be used as a real estate office or something of the sort. I was sad but I was very lucky to get in such a place when it was not in use. So we headed on back to the house to unload phone books in Lee's Jeep take a break then journey off to our next location which is Debary Hall.
