Dinky
Dock At Rollins College
We had a hard time finding this little park at first. I was driving down
this road and had to turn around that is when a cop whipped around real
quickly and tailgated me. I thought great here we go again since it seems
to be a weekly event with me. But I drove real slow he got agitated and
went around me lol. It was funny seeing Jason and Ariel trying to buckle
there seat belts all at the same time I love it.
We eventually parked at the college park and it was well lit. If you do
not know about this college it is one of the oldest universities in the
state of Florida and many say its haunted by Anne Russell which is a very
famous ghost. I did not want to investigate the college cause of the dorms
but the park was free game so this is where we based the investigation
around.
We started off at the old train station site which all that stands was a
monument. There was a lot of energy in this open area you could feel as if
something of importance was here. Ariel and I headed towards a wood dock.
We seen a giant gar in the water this thing was almost 3 feet in length
just swimming in the murky water.
Jason was leaning over on the edge I thought to myself wouldn't it be
funny if I slightly bumped into him heh. But Nahhhh I could not let the
gators have their way or I would be out an investigator.
We then walked along the shores and there was many old willows growing on
shore. They were probably around when the train use to stop at Rollins
College. We walked on this narrow dock which means one wrong step and any
of us could have fallen in.
I could sense energy here the lake was really gloomy the water did not
even move and the moon was behind the clouds. I took off on my own to a
look out point near some of the college buildings. There was this giant
tree growing on the bank of the lake with lots of moss hanging off of it.
I turned my back and seen on a railing off in the distance a giant bird
thought at first it was an eagle but as I got closer it was an owl. I
slowly walked over to the owl he paid no mind to me at first. Then
hysterically he turned his head real fast moved it to the side and looked
at me. We must had stared eye to eye for a good minute then I walked
towards him. I managed eventually to get about a foot away from him. I
reached my hand out to pet him and he flew off but he was a gorgeous older
owl. He flew on this big old tree then to the bell tower nearby. It was
not a ghostly experience but still Ariel was real fascinated on how close
I was able to get to him it felt really awesome.
Eventually we made our way past the museum which is part of the college
and went behind it on this giant peninsula which extends over the water.
There was a gazebo and a few giant trees. I felt a presence here much
stronger then on the dinky docks park.
We walked a little ways found a little every green tree and these bamboo
like trees growing out of the water. The old lamps were dark and out. We
then found some docks with a bunch of sail boats. I assume the college has
races on the lake. But at this point it was time to go but it was really
eerie back here I felt like something was watching us around here. This
was an older area on the college property as over the years many students
used these docks to launch there boats and reflect.
We started to head back and really I cannot say we experienced to much
here but Ariel was really uneasy around here. We did not walk the college
grounds as security was out walking around and I bet you some of them
older buildings on the grounds are haunted. But I basically wanted to
bring you this investigation so others could learn the history of the
college and its haunted tales that go with it.
We eventually took a break at a picnic bench and made our way back to our
vehicle. Jason went to take one last look on the docks. The park has a lot
of mixed feelings like certain parts are gloomy while other parts you feel
watched. Are there ghost here? More then likely but it was a nice little
break then we visited our last location of the night known as Pineywood
Cemetery
