Depeyster and Cruger Sugar Mill Ruins
Trying to find this place is like a hit and miss since its out in the middle of the woods. Lee and I stopped at a campground and thought perhaps the ruins were located here we found out they were not lol but I did leave my card on the
bulletin board. Then we decided to search for the ruins again and finally found a dirt road leading to it.
Lee and I hiked down the dirt road and it was getting pretty dark back in here. Each time we took a further step it become to a point where you could barely see all the way until we reached the sugar mill ruins. I was pretty happy that we found them as like most plantations and sugar mill ruins in the area this one was pretty unique just not as large.
Lee and I walked on over to a stone stove and some equipment it seemed we could not pick up any energy near it. I did near the equipment just not the stove which perhaps would heat the molasses up. We then walked back over to the sugar mill.
Oddly enough the one thing different here was the walls were alot higher then most sugar mills and it did look like part of some church like one site I read on as there were a few coquina archways. I walked under some of the archways and it seems that alot of these ruins are being restored. Sadly enough they are using wood to do it kind of taking away its old historical look.
We seen alot of coquina blocks scattered around the grounds and one well which lead out to a small tunnel with rod iron grating on it. There was not to much activity here a few cold spots and a few areas that did not feel comfortable especially near the well there was a strong
presence there it was cold and every time I turned my back I felt something was chasing me or behind me constantly.
After a few times walking down the walkways on the backside I stopped because I heard whistling coming from a nearby nature trail which was closed. At first I was like no it cannot be thought it was an animal but I heard some movement at the same time.
We kept walking then Lee heard it and there seemed to be a whistling coming from the woods. It was strange because out of all the time we spent there we did not hear any whistling or movement. I mean we seen some
Ecto in our flashes, felt a few energy spots things of that sort but this whistle was real distinct and strong. Maybe like something was trying to get our attention or off in the woods just singing a tune off and on. There was also a purring type of noise perhaps a pigeon or wild turkey I do not know but it was very odd sounding here.
I thought it might be wind blowing through the trees or something as well and maybe it was but nonetheless I want to keep an
open-mind since the whistling sounded along the range more human then naturistic. Was this a ghost whistling in the woods? We then read a little bit about the historical significance in the area and walked back down the dirt road. It was obvious a
presence walked us out to the gates and no further. Then we decided to move on to our next location which was Pacetti Cemetery.

Depeyster and Cruger Sugar Mill Ruins
A very high walled structure, with a strong presence. The energy felt to me as
though it was actually in the walls and stones of the structure. It also felt as
though we were being watched. Before and during when we heard whistling I sensed and energy near the
entrance to the nature trail, and at one point the whistling seemed to have moved behind us and the energy felt as
though is was right behind the tree line to me.
The energies of this place felt very localized and mostly residual. The whistling entity, I cannot properly qualify as it was quite a way off and like the presence I felt watching me, hard to pin down.
