Davenport Cemetery

Finding this place was hell we missed it by twenty miles how who knows we never seen the turn off for it. Luckily with some good guessing the directions I had did not tell me it was a county over grrrr.

But anyhow we had two other places planned before Davenport both fell through that was just the type of night it was. The first place was a giant nature preserve very secluded full of trails, woods and lakes. We started to hike in and some guy in a beat up truck was driving around. I had only 3 seconds to react as this guy came around the bend and we had only a little bit of grass 3 feet high near the road to hide in.

So right away I grabbed the team and dove right into the grass my feet were entangled in vines so I fell straight on my chest and could not go any further. The guys came almost down on top of me. On my way down I cut my chin open on a thorny vine it was bleeding at that time little did I know the problems the bacteria would cause me.
(This would lead to Cellulitis a few days later which caused me alot of problems leaving for NJ a few days later and I had to go to the Emergency Room 11 days later from the date I received the scratch) The truck passed by without seeing us. Sadly the truck waited down the road near the hiking trail and for us confrontation was not an option especially with Jersey coming up we did not feel like dealing with somebody who might not be to friendly so we hiked back out and sadly we were a good distance in.

Then we headed to another cemetery after this in the process of looking for Davenport their was drug dealers and hookers hanging out in front of it so another no go. That is how most of Florida is you get these small communities and the people are just not right. Finally we reached Davenport Cemetery it was down this road surrounded by various mills, woods and train tracks. Their was a cattle farm nearby and right when we got into the cemetery a farmer blasting his country music drove past us in a truck. I was like oh boy cause at this point it was late and it just seemed no matter where we went their was people out and about or trouble.

We went into the cemetery did not pay any mind to the west end of it only the east end. Towards the back were some stones from the 1800's a few were damaged. A gate led into the farmers back yard so again not a lot we could do was not interested in being shot at. We heard in the cemetery cows mooing.

Honestly it lacked a lot of activity I felt a presence here but it just was not active like some of the cemeteries I been to out in the country. The cemetery is on a peaceful road its very quiet and dismal in the area. But I didn't see anything strange we sort of separated looking around. Kind of a bummer for our 700th investigation but we did get some ectoplasmic photos so sometimes its about what the camera can catch not the eye.

In conclusion to our report the night was a good lesson learner for Andrew he is new to these scenarios but in the past I have dealt with not so nice people at night so we usually avoid those situations. I felt bad we did not get to hike around the preserve its all Indian land but this is Florida people are nosy even at 4am they sit by their windows they stare at you and they cause problems. This is why I am moving I put up with it a few years and its getting old. You have ghetto neighborhoods in the middle of nowhere and right away you drive down a dead end street groups of guys try to run up to you its crazy and that is how our night went. We drove a couple hundred miles and really at that point we visited 5 places and were only able to produce two investigations out of them.

But that's okay our trip up to Jersey we will be visiting well over 20 places and we will need to save all our energy for it. It was a busy week for PGS we have a new design on our main page, new flash buttons on the main page, subscriptions now, web security integrated into the site and a new flash intro. So it was not only a productive week in that but we managed to pull off a couple cemeteries before we head out to New Jersey. Until next time!!!
