Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery

It was a pretty long ride to get to this cemetery but we made a pit stop so Andrew could get some food. Originally we were supposed to investigate also the Fruitland Mt. Zion Methodist Cemetery and strangely it was supposed to be on a private dirt road. Well we did look for it and could not find it only later to find out it was behind a ranch house and very invisible to public eye due to all the vandalized stones.

This cemetery was very small the sign had been torn down next door their was this dog barking on and off. We really could not stay long but the cemetery was very eerie and dark. Its one of these ones really in the middle of no mans land.

The church was all made of wood strangely that had no sign either lol. Jason and I walked around for a little bit. We found newer stones to our left and older ones in the back of the church. There was not a lot of activity here I felt the woods may have been a better prospect for activity.

We walked around the church and cemetery twice then split cause between the dog and some local driving past it just was not good timing.

After we were done investigating the Baptist cemetery I followed my directions to the Methodist Church Cemetery or what I thought would be it a few roads away.

I turned down a few dirt roads and one of them led me to a ranch. Of course with my luck I tried to turn around so I had to drive off the road. When I turned around the truck got stuck on a small ridge which runs along the side of the road. We hit the bottom really hard. I backed it up then gave it a lot of RPMs and we broke free. I must had peeled out of there like 80 miles Andrew was like wow this is just like the Dukes Of Hazard. I seen Jason in the backseat holding on for dear life I was just laughing my ass off.

So I was pretty confused at this point why I did not see the church or cemetery so I kind of speculated that the place we were just at was it. I drove back to the Baptist Cemetery we parked to let the truck cool down and we hiked out behind it in search of this cemetery. I figured driving by it did not give us a full view of where it might be.

Our walk came up empty handed and two big dogs nearby were barking. I asked Andrew what he would do if they were on the loose he said easy hop the playground fence so it sounded like a good plan just in case.

So all we could come up with is that since this was the newer Baptist church and the other church was a half of mile up the road we assessed that the Baptist Cemetery and both churches were the same.

I had to go under my truck cause my catalytic converter was covered in sand and dirt. I was brushing it off with my hands and a brush. I really hit the bottom of it hard especially when I seen all the grass hanging off the bottom of my truck. Andrew was just laughing cause that truck started off clean and came out pretty dirty just from driving around looking for a cemetery.

We then moved on to Walaka National Forest & Mt. Royal Indian Mound.
