I am so so sorry this is out as late as it is but I am only one person
trying to do multiple task so I do run a little behind. Its very hard
lately cause I got so many projects going on all at once I barely sleep
lol.
Andrew and I went on out of town to Saint Augustine's this is our biggest
event in northern FL each year that we try to do. Of course this years
investigation was more of a historic ghost walk you really cannot work
with ghost when you have a festival going on around the graveyards,
haunted homes, and streets. But I wanted to bring you a sort of Xmas type
of investigation so its all good.
I am very happy to bring you these places their is almost a sense of magic
to them when your out there with moon peaking out walking the haunted
brick streets. This is an area with a lot of history and if it was not
jammed packed id done more places but even orbs were rare around here.
We spent time at various locations Andrew and I packed up a cooler left
very early out of town after I swung by picked him up, dropped the
kids off at the babysitters and stopped for some munchies at the gas
station.
We investigated Anastasia Island, The Bridge Of Lions & Saint
Augustine Harbor, Old Saint Augustine Jail, St. Augustine National
Cemetery, Zorayda Castle, and Final Fort Matanzas & Rattle Snake
Island. I will say we saved the best place for last which is going to be
an exciting report. We started off arriving onto Anastasia Island and our
adventure begins here.
Anastasia
Island
We drove threw town it was all decorated very nicely people shopping at
the local stores. My area I wanted to focus on was the old historic quarry
which is an area full of woods, trails, dirt roads and its the main
attraction on the island. The lighthouse nearby was all lit up with lights
spinning.
We hiked on over to the trail head which had an old sign, history board,
brochures etc a ranger pulled along side of us but did not say a word. I
love this area cause nobody bothers you its all about ghost here.
We got onto the trail it meandered a little bit and eventually came right
out into the quarry. Lots of coquina walls it was interesting. This is
probably the only area in this investigation I felt watched nothing more
then that though.
At times the trail split on off in different directions within the quarry
but it basically led the same direction until we found a fence in the
woods and I figured we would hike off the trail lol. I get at times really
adventurous so this would be fun to see why a fence was here. An area was
down so we followed it threw some scrubs came on out to this other trail
and some structure being built.
Parts
of the trail came close to the road but we were on an unusually high hill
for FL and we walked across a few little wood bridges. I liked the hill we
do not see many down here.
We came around the bend there was an old couple in the dark walking along
they did not see us till we came out into a clearing where we found some
old amphitheater and warehouse off into the woods with lots of trucks.
It appeared this open area was part of a campground we saw lit up trailers
and smelled camp fires. We found a new trail being built and we found a
private road which came out to this other dirt road. I took the darker way
which was funny cause it led us to these streets and each street had a ton
of campers so we knew at this point this part of the woods was the camping
area.
Some guy was smoking with a fire going but it was quiet people minded
there own. We had came back down the road and it ended up looping to a
dead end so we followed it and we were back to the clearing. On our
way there we heard some movement do not know what it was but it was
heaving and moving around a lot in the woods sounded like possibly a deer.
We did take a different trail back which came out down the entrance road
and to the gates. On our way back a dog at some house was really acting
up. It was a peaceful investigation but Andrew and I had a nice long
conversation about pirates on this island and yes this is a very historic
island so to walk on it show the fans some pictures is a nice thing.
We then headed on off to Saint Augustine's Bridge Of Lions & Harbor.
