My first visit to Tule Springs is what instigated an night excursion and exploration into what I believe is a place of great energy. Tule Springs Ranch sits on the site of what is today Floyd Lamb Park. 

Tule springs was a Pleistocene Paleontologic Site and miners watering hole. Now that would make sense because behind Tule Springs is Snow Mountain which we are climbing Dec. 6th 2008 it will be epic. On the base of Snow Mountain is a quarry and I did find a couple tunnels. 

In the pre-Columbian period many Native Americans visited or stopped here. It also served as a guest ranch for out of state residents seeking to live in Nevada and gain access to its easy divorce requirements. That explains why the divorce rate is so high in sin city. Jacob Gourmon purchased the Ranch as a private retreat and for those wealthy divorcees in the Vegas area.

The Ranch was inherited by Gourmond's Granddaughter when he passed away in 1954. She then sold it to a businessmen who formed the Tule Springs investment company who then sold the ranch to the City Of Las Vegas in 1964 who named the Ranch Floyd Lamb Park by 1977. The Ranch is a self supporting ranch and is very active with many historic structure.  The state did have control of it until in July of 2005 as it was sold to the city and eventually  it was Renamed once again to Floyd Lamb Park At Tule Springs. In addition to that the park also 1,300 acres of land came with the deal which is most of the land at the base of Snow Mountain. 

The park itself is 680 acres people consider it an Oasis with its lush vegetation, giant trees, wildlife, horses galloping, and Sheep's on the range. Inside the park are various lakes.  Many bones of Camels, Sloths and even dinosaurs have been found here. Rumor has it that one of the largest prehistoric burials grounds is under the springs. 

Its an ancient place with alot of history just to hike around under the moon here is a real treat and yes I have eaten the fish out of the lake.
