Town Cemetery is roughly the 2nd oldest cemetery in the Alden NY area. There is a sadness that looms here. Almost every stone is either turned, stacked, broken or from the mid to 1800s. It is a private cemetery surrounded by woods and a creek. Obviously it is a place where the early settlers of Alden were buried at one time. I believe that this cemetery is haunted by a playful child ghost. I also notice many children are buried here. There is an area here with piles of headstones and a mound interesting yet a feeling of desecration is obvious. Otherwise the cemetery is very well kept no high grass and still much room for future burials. I been to a lot of cemeteries but this one you never seem to be alone. The scent of an older woman's perfume seems to linger here as well which often in most cemeteries you smell dirt.
