The Dark Alleyways is one of DeLand's biggest secrets. When you walk along buildings you only see what your eyes let you which would be the front of these nice looking shops. But how many look at the front but never the back? Just like NYC or Chicago these alleys have a similar feeling. Perhaps some of the more sinister things go on here when the sun goes down after all most of the alleys in DeLand are forgotten, dirty, full of garbage, high grass and signs of rituals as well as other occurrences.

Over the years there have been many ghost tales at many of these pubs and buildings. But one must understand that ghost are more likely to hide in the darkest places which would be where others do not go. Over the last few months I have spent many times walking down these alleys by myself. I have felt watched, followed, even chased out at times. One thing that comes to mind when you think about alleys is the negativity that goes on with them. For example murders, the homeless sleeping down in them, vandals, and other dark dealings. When the burning of DeLand occurred it was obvious some people perished near these alleyways. So this is my reason for a look into the alleyways. Doing this investigation made me feel like I was in a Buffy or Angel TV series!

Exploring here made me found out how many hidden passages there are and the things you just do not notice unless your out there looking for it. Walking down various alleyways you will see things like fire escape stairs, balconies, a laundry sink, dumpster, trash, scrap metal, old wood doors, rot iron grates on all the windows, garages, shacks, sheds and even a giant kennel. It really is great urban exploration more then it is haunted but nonetheless places as foreboding as these always have a haunt or two. I mean if you look at our first investigation its obvious that two ghostly faces we captured in the alleys are not even human so it definitely is a strange place.

One of the alleyways leads to a hidden park with benches and old lamps kind of a nice little cozy make out spot. So there is some beauty to the investigation as well as a lot of dark history. Walking down one alley you could see symbols and occult symbols of some kind. It is obvious that rituals have taken place at one time or another after all these alleys are over a century old. So to bring everybody such an investigation is a big treat as I wander through the city streets in search of things that go bump in the night in areas many do not see even during the day. I mean on a factual basis how many of you during the night wander dark alleys down city streets?

So sit back and enjoy the ride as I take you into the darkness!
