Smyrna Dunes Park

We drove down this dark road which had a few condos in the area as we were making our way along the beach. We were worried cause we could not find this park and when we got to the dead end it turned out to be the US Coast Guard Base. Yeah I know we always seem to wind up on government property lol.

We found the park and grabbed our gear for our hike. I really have to thank Patti though she brought a cooler full of drinks that was the best thing anybody could have ever done for an investigation. Cause honestly you have no idea how hard it is to hike around in 100 percent humidity and be trapped in a 115 degree house.

So we were geared up and ready to go with fluids in us and I could not wait to get out into the dunes area to hike. We started off down a dark road there was many palms and palmettos surrounded us. It was very tropical actually until we came up to a trail head with a boardwalk.

We started to hike down the board walk and I noticed that we were going higher up at times as it twisted and weaved around the dunes. The dunes are very amazing some of them might even have treasure from pirates buried in them. The foliage on both sides of us was fairly think and the further we traveled the more I could smell and hear the ocean.

There was a few condos off to our right with some lit windows but it was peaceful and serene. I felt a few cold spots but the breeze from the ocean also interfered with me being able to feel out the area. The sky above us was gorgeous there was some clouds but the stars were out and as I got closer to the ocean anticipation started to build. Jason blew off a bottle rocket and I am thinking oh great now the Coast Guard is really going to know we are here lol.

We found a board walk off to the side which led us out right onto the beach. Last night could not have been a more perfect night. The moon was piercing threw the clouds, miles away in New Smyrna a fireworks display was going on near the beach, there was lightening over the water, and the stars were out. Last night the rest of the world did not matter for that was our time if I could freeze time permanently that would have been it.

The tide was low so we had a lot of beach front to walk around on. I could see a casino cruise ship just off the coast. People dancing, gambling, drinking, and dining on board. How I wished I was on board playing the slots and enjoying the finer things in life lol

The boat started to travel into the inlet nearby to the Indian River. Jason and I blew off some bottle rockets I launched one from between my legs it almost hit Jason in the forehead but he ducked. Then Jason launched one and i told Patti nothing is going to happen and it exploded in a wave oh man all you could here is a muffled bang totally hilarious.

After walking around the beach and relaxing we blew the last of our fireworks and around the corner came a jeep shining its spotlight. Yes the coast guard was after us lol why does that not surprise me. I had everybody immediately grab the gear and we ran for cover back into the tropical sand dune area we barely made it but that was a close call.

Apparently its no longer legal to do fireworks on the beach years ago it was but I figured the coast guard was not to happy with our bottle rockets We started walking along the beach down the board walk till the dunes became so high we could not see the ocean.

There was some pavilions along the board walks where you could sit down and enjoy the sunset or a view of the ocean. If I ever fall in love again I am going to make it a point to take my future girlfriend on a picnic here cause it is a gorgeous place. Imagine sand dunes with tropical fauna growing off them and then the ocean to your right and then across the inlet to the Indian River the lighthouse light spinning.

I felt a real mystical energy here or a residual energy from the past. I did not really feel any ghost but this is a place at one time pirates and young explorers walked. As the board walk started to turn away from the ocean it ran parallel with the inlet. I was right across where I caught my hammer head shark a few weeks ago just on the other side of Ponce Inlet.

As we hiked deeper in I noticed a Coast Guard private service road so this explains the 4wheeler or jeep shining its spotlights. They came right down this road right from the base. We hiked a little ways then we found an observation tower which we climbed to the top. I could not believe how gorgeous it was here. I felt like we were in a dream and at this point paranormal or not the beauty here is enough to take you into worlds beyond our own.

Eventually we made it back to the parks entrance but this area was different. There was a picnic shelter, soda machines, a bulletin board with pamphlets. The one board had all the different types of fish you could catch in the area including sharks.

We started to hike on out and took a few photos in hopes the Coast Guard would not be waiting by the truck. All was peaceful and we made it out quietly. I almost to tell you the truth did not want to leave. Its the type of place you could just sleep on a sand dune looking up at the stars.

I do not know how paranormal the area was but we did over 2 miles of hiking which included the dunes, trails between the dunes, and the beach  Its strange cause when I go fishing I always am looking across the water at the Dunes and the beach yet last night I was the one on the other side looking back. Patti did get some night vision footage amongst the dunes I will review it for any paranormal anomalies.

In conclusion to my report I want to thank Patti for coming on out for her first investigation with the group she did very well compared to other investigators we have had in Florida. We were pretty tired after our hike so we headed on home. When we got back here I reviewed some of the footage and seen that she captured a orb live on camera moving around. I also took a lot of photos in both areas.

These were some good investigations and just in time for the 4th of July! Now at this point I am going to be pretty busy prepping for tomorrows 4th of July bash. We just picked up almost 400 dollars worth of fireworks totally a few thousand so yeah tomorrow will be paranormal in itself lol. Have a safe and happy 4th of July to all my members and friends! Remember do not drink and drive!
