The Shingle Creek Grapefruit Plantation

I really loved this place as it had that old country setting type of look. We started off exploring the farm house which was red and white. There was a nice size front porch on it and big trees draping the entire home.

We walked into the den area where there was a giant fireplace. From my understanding this grapefruit farm almost had 700 acres of land so lots of area for us to explore.

The house was very dismal it had a couple rooms and two attics one with a broken ladder leading to it. I did not sense to much ghostly in the house but it was real eerie no occult symbols, bones, blood etc like the hell house though.

There was a Florida room and some sparrows sleeping. I touched one of them and it became startled flying towards Jason's head he ducked quickly. The house was fairly empty there was nothing inside just a bunch of wood floors, empty rooms, a fireplace, and broken windows.

We did walk out back found an old well which was boarded up filled with dirty water. We also noticed about 5 to 6 separate structures out back one being a chicken coop, a barn, a shed, a garage with an old antique truck and a couple others.

All of the structures were made of wood which was rotting and falling apart. Again the photos will give you an idea. It was like a miniature ghost town back here. Lots of old machinery, tractors, tools, etc

We explored every structure but some of them were horribly infested by giant spiders, webs draped across the ceilings, and bee hives. One structure we went upstairs to take a look around. The plantation was in horrible shape.

We found a lot of grape fruit trees on the property some were so huge it was amazing. Also we noticed nearby a whole orchard so the area was very large. I picked a grapefruit to eat but forgot to bring it home with me.

At this point I had no light left my maglite was putting out enough light to barely see the time on my wrist watch. We did a lot of exploring back here but we needed a break from the woods so we stuck around the barns and house.

The activity did not pick up till we were about to leave the house then things became really cold around the front of the house and across the street at the orchard. Lots of history here to the area. We then headed on off to the Babb House.
