Rosewood & Shiloh Cemetery

We went to look for Rosewood the ghost town where a movie was made about it and even books. I was excited about this place but we did not get to investigate it as planned. I am so sorry to the person who wanted me to do this 4 years ago I tried I really did but things change places become restored etc.

We went down a country road turned around on some rednecks property Christy backed out the entire way then I recognized the house from Rosewood and its well the only remaining thing still left. We took a photo of the plaque and now someone lives at the house. Kind of morbid if you ask me so we could not get onto the property to investigate it.

Knowing me I figured we could however find the train car and tracks which had something to do with Rosewood when the people escaped the burning of the town. So I found a trail very overgrown very eerie near the side of the road and we got in deep could not take photos a large dog was a few hundred feet away. Well the owner of the house came outside and we split  not that we were on his property its the fact that I will not do investigations with nosy people or angry dogs nearby.

So we took about 4 to 5 dirt roads its a real eerie place there is some dirt roads you cannot get down a lot of the houses are in poor shape. There is a lot of crosses made out of wood in the ghost town etc. at one time the KKK was very active here.

It was an eerie place woods...dirt roads...churches...and a few houses that were overgrown with not so nice residents living in the area we could tell by how some were nosy and such. I got out a few times alone walking down the dirt roads not to investigate but to find back ways in to see the train car and after that it just became a case where big dogs...and private trailers in the woods.

But we tried and will have a small write up on our site about this so others can learn a little history. I personally felt very unsettled around this place there is no stores. no gas stations...and the fog was so thick it was just terrible. Christy did well hiking in the woods with me I got cut up on some sand spurs and we only got a few hundred feet but I know that path led to some of the town site grrr big dogs lol.

Not only that but on one dirt road I seen a glowing light cross the road it was massive source unknown I really have no answer for it. It was about 600 feet away and it was a bright glow or ball of light kind of like a single beam of a spotlight but it was not because it was in the road which at that time I could see if it was car or person it was neither.

So we moved on down the road to visit a very historic and unique cemetery. It was not in Rosewood but close enough since the area had the same feel to it.

We went to Shiloh Cemetery keep in mind you take this dirt road for a few miles nothing but rough dirt roads...trailers in the woods....and dead ends. We went down a few roads looking for it one dead ended at some trailer and found some lady stumbling along the road drunk. Yeah bad real bad but not uncommon to see when your in secluded places up in here in FL she got really scared dove out of the way freaked out then some other kid was wandering outside the dirt road in another location.

We went back and almost gave up then we went further up this road no houses just woods and there it was the cemetery fence. I thought I seen something in the back of the cemetery maybe a reflection who knows but it was odd light does reflect a lot but what I seen was red and glowing way off in the back. I never found the answer to that either.

We walked in and see what is unique about the place is that giant clam shells are laid upon each burial mound to hold the dirt and graves together. Since the area is prone to sea storms and heavy flooding. We heard cows screaming in the distance....and the cemetery had a lot of cold spots.

We went our own ways investigating and I heard movement in the cemetery which is fenced in there was only a few trees. There was no animals...or anything that could cause it but like I told Christy the feeling I got with this place is watchful eyes not from the locals but from something of the paranormal.

She then heard movement on her end something was in the cemetery with us. I sat down on a very old stone bench that was broken in pieces...we even found an empty shed. Its an old place very historic but also very secluded so EVP here probably came out well.

There were many new graves but also many graves from the late 1800's some had clam shells so large maybe the biggest I ever seen didn't even know clams could get that big haha. A lot of sea shells in the cemetery....we found a couple circular formations to in the cemetery maybe pet burials where the shells went in a circle in the middle of the cemetery.

We decided to get out of there figured maybe the people out walking these dirt roads might see the flashes and come being nosy. You have to be an explorer in this state to understand the things that go on back in the woods here in FL some of these people live in the middle of nowhere on dirt roads...a lot of them drink..do drugs...and carry guns. A lot of them walk with no light down endless woodsy overgrown dirt roads out to cause problems so we got our photos left and headed out to Shell Mound.
