Old Salt Road Beach park was once the site the Confederate Army used to obtain sea salt to cure and preserve meat to feed their troops. Its also the site of many coquina rock formations none of which we seen. The sand at this beach from park is almost red and very gritty.  If you even want to call this a park there really is only a sign, parking lot, restroom, wood bridge, a golf course on one side and a huge resort on the other.

The resort completely surrounds this park and the beach is called Cinnamon Beach cause of its reddish brown color. The link to the resort is here for anybody who wants to enjoy a night of sunsets, golf, fishing, swimming, and hell even the paranormal. Its a little pricey but its a nice place. http://www.oceanhammock.com/

I just thought the site was interesting because of the confederate army operating out of here at one time. The area is quite a jewel in itself down a secluded road and its a very private beach. Although in my opinion do not try the fishing here trust me on this:)
